How about the airbags? Is the seatcover designed to accommodate the airbags to deploy in case?

According to both Leder Interia and Seatmate, side airbags can punch through the seatcover material. Manipis lang actually yung synthetic leather. No padding sa side.

Pimp my ride ... your side airbags will not deploy properly ... these shops do not have the means to test their seat covers for airbag safety ...

Sana single stitching lang yung sides instead of leder interia's triple stitch. Hopefully it deploys properly naman. No choice eh.
Have to find time to visit a vw showroom to see the caddy again. Bro in law is from isabela kaya once ko pa lang nakita caddy nya. Sya yata first kumuha sa bgc branch. Wala pa raw kahit anong accessories that time from bgc

You can spec single stitch if there is a concern on airbag deployment. The material though is fairly thin and is actually quite fragile if scratched directly.

In any case, here's hoping we don't need to test it.

Kahit now wala pa accessories Caddy. Was looking for film to cover door sills and a rubber strip for the rear bumper.

Surprisingly, meron sa Lazada. Generic lang though for the Touran/Golf/Caddy.

VW philippines is offering the all-new caddy 1.6 tdi in 2 variants now.
Comfortline at 1.43M and sportline at 1.48M.
Mukhang same body naman as before, right? Nagmahal na sya by 80k.
Mukhang wala pa ting backup sensors ang 1.6tdi.

Actually Caddy backup sensor is installed by Winterpine.

The Caddys on sale use the newly facelifted body and it has a new interior similar to the new Jetta and Golf.

Mechanicals remain the same.

Still a good buy and the only true 7 seater, meaning real adult sized seats on the third row and boot space.

Still recommended.

Actually Caddy is based on the Mk6 Golf so hindi mataas rear niya. My in laws find it much easier to board vs our old Montero so oldies-friendly. That and the big sliding doors are a plus.

Rear is leaf spring but ride in my opinion is better than a Grandia. As mentioned, I’ve taken my in-laws for a drive to Bataan, and some officemates sa ACEA in Subic and no complaints sa ride.

Dami praises on the room, specially sa 3rd row. 2 seatbelts lang pero kasya 3 comfortably pa rin in a pinch. Plus of course may trunk space pa sa likod.

The new models are the 1.6L TDIs with the sleeker look but are mechanically the same as previous caddys released. but they should be more than enough for city and long trip driving.

Yung sa pag-drive, feeling mo ba parang kotse lang ang dinadrive mo? My wife, who is a tad smaller than 5 ft, would she have a hard time driving it? Gusto ko sana i-test drive, ayaw naman nila. What is your experience? thanks.

Actually yung width niya kotse since Golf-based siya. My wife can drive it (slightly over 5ft) in Manila traffic. Maganda yung sightlines mo from the cockpit kasi malapad windows and side mirrors.

Ganda rin pang parking sa mall kasi sliding doors, and may detent stops yung front doors, so maiiwasab yung dimple sa nakatabing kotse.

Naninibago lang wife ko sa DSG, kasi pag binitawan mo gas parang nag engine brake siya na parang manual. Unlike normal auto and CVT na tuloy pa rin kahit hindi nakatapak.

Saw the face-lifted 1.6 comfortline which was on display in a mall. Unit was color green which didnt look nice.
Mas maganda na ang dashboard with a brushed metal accent across the dash. I still find the 2nd row a bit cramped for comfort. 3rd row is more spacious compared to other mpvs or ppvs. Trunk space is big even with the 3rd row up.
Big downside is 2 years lang pala warranty. Units are readily available in red and white.

Yes similar to the Grandia, which is also uses leaf springs.

But the Caddy does not play in the category of the luxury vans so hindi siya comparable.

Malayo naman luxury van like the alphard compared sa caddy.
The caddy is actually under commercial vehicles since it's being used for business, deliveries and construction in other countries

yup, i am aware. so does this mean that we can expect it's ride quality to be more like the hi-ace or urvan and quite far from the alphard, odyssey? or is the leaf spring of vw better than that of toyota or nissan?

Having ridden an Alphard and owning a Caddy, of course there’s no comparison. As noted previously, it’s a different class altogether.

Based on seat of the pants rating, I would rate the Caddy’s ride better than the Hi Ace, and maybe at par with my old gen Montero (2009).

One factor I suppose is the low profile of the caddy wheels, whick is probably due to being tuned to smoother Euro roads.

Weird. Sorry can't relate as I did not experience spongy brakes nor weak acceleration.

Maybe kasi turbo needs to spool up before getting the power that you need. It's a 1.6L turbo diesel, so turbo needs to kick in to get any power.

PSI recommended depends on the tires installed in the vehicle. As noted in the previous post, tire pressure can be found in the sticker located in the driver's door sill, visible only when you open the door.

For my Caddy that has 17" 205 50 tyres, recommended pressure is higher than the usual 30-32 benchmark we usually use. Higher pa tire pressure sa likod kung laden.
