Better than nothing. [emoji27]

Months ago, touran ang discounted. Parang 100k din ang discount.

The Touran is heavily discounted because it's the end of the line for that model in the Philippine market. They're not bringing in units any anymore. The replacement is the Caddy.

Mentioned to my SA before that Touran seems a weak proposition when side by side with Caddy.

Caddy js cheaper, roomier, and at least for the 2.0tdi 4motion unit, more powerful and flexible than the Touran.

Polo-Jetta-Golf GTS-Caddy-Passat. Seems local VW has found its lineup at last for Pinas that can go toe to toe with the Japanese.

Tiguan-Touareg-Golf GTI would be niche entries, unless babaan selling price ng Tiguan to compete withe Cx5 / Rav4 / Forester / Tucson category.

Heard they were bringing in the Caravelle as well next year. If priced near the TOTL Grandia and Starex, that should be a good buy. And should kill the Tepee as well and the 3008.

Yep, we waited 6 months for the unit to arrive after expressing our interest to get one. My wife left the Ayala group less than 2 months after we got the car. Hahaha

It beats the hell out than buying a City VX or Altis 1.6V for around the same amount of money last year.

Last year, the Jetta 1.6L TDI DSG Highline was supposed to have a retail price of 1.398M, 100k lower than the top-spec 2.0L TDI DSG which was sold for 1.498M. We were offered a 450k discount thru the Ayala corporate car program. The lower-spec Comfortline model was offered for 900k and the Trendline was at 850k. The Jetta 1.6L TDI MT was offered for 800k.

VW-PH announced an inventory sale for all their 2016 models around November last year. The Jetta 1.4T DSG was sold at a bargain price of 950k, the Golf 1.4T DSG at 1.05M, the Jetta 2.0L TDI DSG at 1.1M, and the Jetta 1.6L TDI MT at around 780k. Apparently, they had to do this to make way for the 2017 Jetta 2.0L TDI and Golf GTS Wagon models which are priced more competitively.

Kahit yung lowest 1.1m Jetta variant sulit. Same 2.0TDI engine, so mas sulit vs base models of the same vehicle class.

I might just get the Business Ed+ of the Jetta as my options have shrunk to almost just this model.

Anyway how is your Caddy pala sir, wala namang complaints or kahit any concern ba so far

I hope you don't get annoyed by the MPH unit display of the speed. There is no option (it wasn't there) to show "alternative display" which is how it can display in KPH.

I drove my office mate's golf gts today. Really friggin nice car for 1.25m.

Loads of features. Great engine, build quality, transmission and panoramic sunroof, leather etc. Very quiet inside....didnt sound like a diesel at all. Superb sound system with a built in subwoofer that really surprised me. Android Auto worked like a charm. And damn that DSg transmission with paddle shifters is bonkers good.

    Value for money is fantastic.

What more if they offered all that in a Golf hatchback? Last year's Golf 1.4T was really good but give it the 2.0L TDI engine plus all the features of the Golf GTS wagon, you got yourself a thrifty yet sporty hatchback.

Owning a european car here in the philippines won't be economical anymore. Then again, it's my opinion po.

Is it true that the Golf GTS wagon is now discontinued? I checked their website and the specs is no longer available.

Sales agent can't give me a concrete answer too. They don't accept reservations anymore. WTH?!

I guess the local VW dealer could not keep up with the demand for the Golf GTS wagon. People are lining up with their orders. The Golf GTS wagon is selling better compared to its sedan brother, Jetta, despite the wagon being more expensive.

Medyo magulo website ng VW, if take a look. Baka they are updating.

GTS is likely not discontinued, as it is a current model known as the Sportwagen sa US and Variant sa ibang markets.

I for one would accept the premium over the Jetta as it equates to more features and space.

Kung platform agnostic ka naman, the Golf/Jetta/GTS all share the same platform. Kung ganoon lang, the Jetta should be your pick kung ubos na GTS. Cheapest way to essentially get the same car.

Also the cheapest way to approximate an Audi A3 since they share the same platform as well. . . :-)

Thanks for the reply Sirs. Yes, it is really a good buy if you're looking for a sedan with ample trunk space and good features.
Plus that 2.0 TDI is fun to drive. Nakaka panibago lang yung DSG tranny nya. I also called Volkswagen under Laus group in Pampanga and no word yet on when the next batch would arrive if there is any at all.
