many years ago, dun kami nagpapagawa kay mega in mandaluyong. i don't know if they still do VWs..
at that time, many VWs had their aircons done in that shop in banawe... i wonder if they still do..

when i still owned a VW Beetle, i had the aircon installed dito sa isang shop sa buendia (malapit sa dominga), specializing in VW Beetles. pero tagal na nun...... more than 15 years na.

Noticeable ba yung loss of power ng engine since mabigat din yung compressor ng A/C?

Noticeable ba yung loss of power ng engine since mabigat din yung compressor ng A/C?

1. kaya naman. and because the engine is behind, the cabin coolness is fully realized.
2. no overheat, during the years that we had ours.
3. any aircon will rob the engine of some power. "but it's tolerable" in the beetle. a real problem, would be the battery. the standard alternator (35A yung sakin!) may have to be upgraded to as high as you can get (54A... 70A), else airconed beetle will have to be push-started a week after the aircon is installed. we initially did some calculations, and determined that the 35A was ok. apparently, we were mistaken.

Back in the 1990s-2000s they would use surplus ACs from small Mazda/Ford/Kia (121, Festiva, Prides).
