[merged] Tsikot Access Speed Issues Discussion Thread

Lately, it has been observed that accessing tsikot forums and classifieds have deteriorated to a point that it takes a long time for tsikot.yehey.com pages to load. We have been told by our webhost provider (yehey.com) that server resources running the tsikot.yehey.com site are nearing maximum utilization.

Thus, in order to avert further deterioration of access speeds, we have decided to temporarily disabled several forum features to decrease the strain on our host's server resources.

The following forum features have been disabled temporarily pending resolution of server resources utilization issues. These features utilize a lot of database queries and processes and thus exert additional load on server resources and bandwidth

a. searching for guests (they can use the google search box for the site prominently displayed under the header)
b. Forum Quick Jump (for forum display and thread display)
c. Display of users browsing a particular forum or thread
d. Similar threads (thread display)
e. Replied to thread Indicators (arrow symbols)

Rest assured that both Tsikot.com and Yehey.com are moving to resolve the issue. A server upgrade is in the offing, and for the meantime, we have to request for understanding for the inconvenience of such features deactivation.

We are reiterating that this move is temporary and these features will be reactivated once the upgrade has been completed.

I think Yehey should give us (tsikot.com) a bigger, badder server because to the high traffic that we get, plus advertisements! Ang dami ko nang na-recommend to register here, kahit casual na kilala ko lang and a lot of people benefit from this site. Just my two cents though...

i don't care about those features, and anything that makes tsikot faster and more reliable, i am in favor of.

the site was becoming dam near unusable with delays and load failures, especially during times of heavy shoutbox usage (which is 100% the fault of imperialistic moderators m2 and nicolodeon )

There used to be a dropdown list that allowed you to navigate to another subforum at the bottom of every page. I found that really convenient. Now I have to go back to root to go to another subforum Is it permanently gone?

pero medyo mahirap talaga kung wla yung quick forum jump. kahit cguro yung mga main forums man lang ang ilagay sa drop down button like "on the road", "at the parking lot", etc. eh pwede na cguro. saka paki lagay ulit sa bottom page hehehe.. suggestion lng po.

our partner, yehey, is already addressing this issue. the features (and more) will be back once our server resources are already at par with the site's demands for processes and bandwidth...

It takes approximately AT LEAST 20sec to refresh or load a page with a fast broadband connection...

Medyo nakakatamad maghintay and magtyaga makipaginteract na sa board... What can we do to speed things up? Can we get rid of the silly "no limit" PM and photo benefit? I'm sure a lot of people are using tsikot gallery for hotlinks as well to other sites.

(heck took me 4 tries to post this message alone, i could only imagine how it would be for dial-up users)

kalimitan nga nag e error pa.. tapos kailangan na naman i refresh ulit..

yup yung photo gallery.. pwede na sigurong wala yun.. dami namang available free sites like photobucket and imageshack.. pwede naman i hot link na lang..
