I think the "new" pop-up is a standard pop-up so google toolbar can close it automatically.

you know that tsikot bandwidth and load resources usage increases by the day...

access to tsikot.com is free.

i am doing everything to maintain it as such, even experimenting with several schemes so that we can break even and make tsikot free forever.

i apologize for the flyinads last week. i was experimenting with several scripts and i inadvertently inserted this script with a banner script that i was testing. worse, i left for palawan for 2 1/2 days not knowing that such a rogue script was installed. again my apologies. the flyinads is a real annoying, devious, site-killing script. believe me, you will never see it again.

anyway, for the newer popups:

if you have your cookies on:

- the webtoolbar (the small pop-up near the status bar) appears only once every 8 hours and will disappear after 30 seconds.

- the hitsforhits popunder appears only once every 8 hours.

believe me, annoying they may be, they are helping the site. every little help is appreciated, especially, if it does something to keep the site online.

i hope everybody will just bear with these occassional inconveniences (once every 8 hours is not bad). how annoying can a pop-under (not even a pop-up) appearing once every 8 hours be? or a small webtoolbar (appearing once every 8 hours and which disappears after 30 seconds)?

these minor inconveniences will remain as long as we don't have enough advertisers to cover our hosting and maintenance costs.

other wise we always have these options:

1. stop new membership sign-ups (to keep the community small and put a lid on our ever increasing usage of resources. (absolutely.. this will never happen)
2. limit simultaneous users to less than 30 at any given time
3. remove forums features (search functions, avatars, image attachments, private messaging, etc.) to conerve bandwith and server load
4. help tsikot admin recruit / look for more advertisers. (the best option!)

for the meantime, we just have to grin and bear them.
