Tsikoteers' Help Needed - Page Loading Time and ISP Survey

We are starting a new thread for this issue. We do realize that lately, tsikot.yehey.com pages have become slower in loading, even not loading at all.

We have referred the problem / access issue with the yehey tech people and they are doing everything to isolate the problem. The problem has been slightly resolved but still continues to persist.

In order for them to pinpoint where the problem is coming from, we need the help of tsikoteers to do a simple test:

    1. Get a stopwatch and measure the time it takes for the following pages to load (from the time you hit enter after inputting the site's url to the time the page fully loads) for the following pages:

    http://tsikot.yehey.com/forums
    http://www.yehey.com

please indicate the loading time in seconds.

    2. Indicate your location and the ISP you are using, specially for Philippines-based members. If you can say something about your computer specs (speed, memory, etc), much the better

Loading Time (in seconds) : Location : ISP : [Computer Specs]

We will be using the info to isolate the access issue: whether it is server-based or somewhere along the pipeline.

Thank you for your help and continued support.

i just want to make some clarification. how can you say that the page has been fully loaded? I noticed that I get to view the page right a way, but when I look on the lower left corner of the Firefox it says that "waiting for tsikot.yehey.com" though I can view page already(ads, shoutbox messages, pictures, forum links). do we have to wait for the word "done"?

*GMZ: Indicate mo when the loading icon stops moving... or do as I do, note when the page itself loads, then how long till the icon stops.

*tsikot: BTW, as I've complained of before, PT&T Greendot DSL, no access at all.

Do you guys keep logs for the page generation times and database access times? You can rule out most of the issues from there, and benchmarks will help you figure out if you have bandwidth bottlenecks. I only ask because the numbers on this survey are going to vary incredibly widely depending on computer specs and time (of day) of access; you could get much "better" numbers from your own logs.

I would think it's either a processing or database bottleneck, since I've noticed the worst slowdowns are always on the pages with the greatest amount of server calls.

off-peak times, it takes 2-4 seconds for yehey to load, and maybe 5-10 secs for the main tsikot page to load.

on peak times, tsikot.yehey.com can clock for up to 5 minutes before i get frustrated and close down the window. the top page with the banner and google ads usually loads in the 1st 5 secs but the shoutbox and forums take a long time.

peak times are daytime in the philippines between 9 am and about 4 pm.

ISP is Bellsouth DSL (leased by Earthlink)
    Location is Florida, USA

    PC: Dell Optiplex 745: P4 3GHz, 1GB RAM
    Location: Makati City
Provider: PLDT (via office LAN, which I assume T1 connected)
    Browser: Mozilla FireFox 2.0.0.6

    Loading time:
    Login: approx. 75secs
Opening New Search: approx 40 secs

Other complains: "There is no new threads to view. Click here to view threads updated within the last 24 hours." The last time I logged in was 20 hours ago and I always clear my browser's cache and cookies everytime I close the browser.
