ang magiging problem is, for example, nagpost si odell ng isang question sa Mitsubishi Forum about his ride, na kaya kong sagutin. pero ang ride ko is Nissan, so dun ako sa Nissan Forum tumitingin. siguradong bihira lang ako titingin sa ibang car brand forum. hindi ko na makikita yung post ni odell. where as kung sa Car Talk Forum dati, lahat kita ang post.

    sir,

i agree with you. imho, mas maganda yung dating format. mas madaling tumingin at siguradong di ka mawawala... nalalabuan po kasi ako sa pagkakahati ng mga sections... :whoa:

    peace!!

    dear tsikoteers,

there are at least 3 reasons why we have implemented this move:

    1. The Car Talk forum has outgrown its purpose. It has lately become one big basket for all kinds of threads - detailing, maintenance tips, audio-video-security, car comparison, etc... when in fact there is a forum for maintenance tips, a forum for detailing, a forum for audio, etc... It has become the most convenient forum for one who does not take too much effort to make a search or think carefully where he will place his thread.

    2. This move is for a long term reason. tsikot is growing fast, by leaps and bounds and exponentially too. We might be 3,000 + members only now, but think where we will be 1, 2, or even 10 years from now. If in the future, we have 20,000 members and even just 1% start a thread in Car Talk, that will be 200 different people, 200 new threads in one forum. In this case... one has to browse through 4 different pages (25 threads / page) of the forum display list just to see the new threads. there will be a good chance that a certain thread just started will not be replied upon for the mere reason that it will never be seen or read. in other words, matatabunan ng mga bagong threads.

In other words, the Car Talk forum will be moving so fast that it will sooner or later need to be broken down to smaller fora, which we are implementing now.

Better to do this now, rather than in the future when we will have more than a million posts and several hundred thousand of threads. As of now, it will take us up to week just to transfer all the threads to their correpsonding fora.

    3. This move will organize the threads and will make it easier for one to look for threads. Arranging the threads and topics according to the car manufacturer type is still the most effective and efficient way of organizing a wide array of future topics as tsikot grows bigger everyday. This has been proven by the biggest auto forums in the world wide web. If you will look around, the biggest and most active online communities have also the greatest number of forums and categories.

As for the big happy family concept, this is still true because of several forums like the PitStop, My Garage, Greetings forum, Workshop, etc. We are still one happy family.

Simply stated, with this move, tsikot is just preparing for the future.

    Thank you for understanding.
