Bakit kaya mabagal pa rin sa akin? I use both PLDT MyDSL and SkyInternet Dial-Up in Ateneo/Katipunan area in QC. Ever since the move of Tsikot.com, my connection has been consistently slow unlike in other local and international sites. Any info on how I can solve this would be appreciated. Thanks.
this is being addressed by yehey and pldt tech people... there are some hardware, routing issues that are quite technical.
they are working on it... please refrain from 'shouting' this out to the whole world to see. this will not help anyone...especially our community.
rest assured they are on top of the situation... i understand your concern and disappointment. but i hope you understand that this is something we did not foresee and don't like happening.

yup.. pldt sip.
i may be wrong but the pldt isp (pldtdsl, vibe, infocom, etc) is not a member of a consortium of most isps in the philippines that are interconnected or something. that's why it takes a longer time for the info to pass from the user's pc to yehey and vice versa (greater number of hops).
kinda technical.. kahit ako di ko masaydo ma-comprehend. but they are already negotiating / fixing these issues
I never knew it would get posted at the shoutbox. I was trying to post another topic in shoutbox, it returned with page timeout error. I think I tried a couple of times, with the same result.
Then tried to post that message which got posted and I didn't notice since, I left out the page to load and eventually returned after my lunch break.

yup between pldt and yehey's isp (Asia Global Crossing).
it seems they belong to different consortia and have connection issues. but they are negotiating about this na.
sorry for the inconvenience to everybody.
btw... this is no secret... Manilatonight.com will also be hosted by yehey.com . so they are very eager to fix this issue so that no one will be inconvenienced by this 'issue'
ungas, no problem. i also would like to apologize for over-reacting. i just don't want tsikot members to be demoralized or be affected 'negatively' by this issue which is being addressed already.
Tsikot.com's website has increased its uptime eversince it moved to YEHEY's facility. Because of this, the current number of users as well as as the number of postings are increasing everyday. Rest assured that YEHEY's servers and leased lines are capable of handling the boost in traffic.
YEHEY also increased the bandwidth allotment of tsikot.com and will increase it further as the need arises. Your moderators can also tell you that the resource utilizations of our servers are much lower than their old box from their previous hosting company.
Some of you may be experiencing slow access because of a "peering problem" between your ISP and YEHEY's ISP. We noticed that PLDT/Vibe/Infocom subscribers have to be routed ( aka "hops" or "hopped" in techie lingo ) to the US before they will be routed back to YEHEY's ISP in the Philippines where the tsikot's site is hosted. Although this is a bad thing for some of you, majority of tsikot.com's users benefitted from tsikot's transfer to YEHEY because the number of hops between their ISP to tsikot.com actually decreased. To illustrate an analogy, just think that you moved to a new house in makati from kalookan. Your friends in bulakan may complain that their travel time is longer when visiting your new house in makati. However, your friends in ortigas, makati, alabang, cavite, and laguna areas are happier because their travel time is much shorter than when they visit you in your kalookan residence.
Although the "mabagal" issue only affects a small percentage of your community, we are doing our best to solve this problem and make sure that the entire community members of tsikot are happy with their new home. Unfortunately, it may take some time because the matter is not within Yehey's nor our ISP's control. Our ISP needs to coordinate with PLDT and the other ISPs you reported to address this problem.
Saakin naman no problems loading threads.... sa replies lang ako may problema... Whenever I try to post a reply.... it takes around 3 mins or more before it gets posted >.>
