Masarap pong isipin na pag dumating ang panahon ay maipagmamalaki natin sa ating mga anak or apo siguro, na member tayo ng tsikot... and with the help of tsikot moderators and volunteers, we promise to make tsikot.com as orderly as possible

    salamat po

Before anything else, I'd like to congratulate mazdamazda on a good job.

I've been on a lot of forums in the past six or seven years, and have even been a moderator at times. I know from experience that it's no piece of cake.

By and far, mazdamazda and the other moderators on this forum have been evenhanded and fair. There are some threads I would have closed that they let hang, and those have come to nothing (in other words, they were right to leave them open)... there haven't been any locks that I have disagreed with, so far.

In regards to the long "Creation vs. Evolution" thread, and the political threads, those are naturally heated topics, but they're sure to be, on any board they're on. Some leave these as open stickies on top of the board... sort of like, leave the bickering in there and don't talk about it anywhere else. Some boards have stickies dedicated to discussions about the American Government, as it gets tiring reading anti-Bush diatribes in every single thread on the board... every time one comes up, we send the post and poster there.

The "Do Maids Have to Wear Uniforms" debate was slightly okay for the first three or four pages, but it started getting nasty after that. Some of us noted that you really shouldn't make a snap judgement on people's character from maid's uniforms... but then others started making snap judgements on people's character from their like/dislike of uniform use. By page 10, the issue was redundant, by page 15-20, it was all insults and bickering.

I'm actually surprised mazdamazda let it go on for a little bit. I think he was trying to give the thread a chance... but I agree with him wholeheartedly on the lock.

Sorry for those who never got a chance to post their opinions, but the topic was open long enough if you were interested to.

Freedom of speech is a given on a public forum, but NO INTERNET FORUM IS TRULY PUBLIC. There are owners and administrators who are working to make this a good place for us to spend our free time in, and we should respect the fact that they're doing such a good job. Look at other forums. The ones where people shout "Nazi!" the most (an American response similar to "Marcos!") are the ones that are the most decent to hang around in.

Besides, with great freedom comes great responsibility... ...peace, tsikoteers!

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

yes, paulit ulit nalang yung mga posts. everytime na meron bagong magpopost, e usually meron ng nakapagpost previously ng same argument, and i sometimes end up answering those posts again. napagsabihan pa nga ako ng isang poster na pinapahaba ko daw yung thread sa mga paulit ulit na sagot ko.

    Nasabi na yata lahat.

I've been a member of several forums, and not once have I seen a thread closed down without good reason. As such, I have complete faith that closing the 'Maids in uniform' thread was not an arbitrary decision. I was expecting the closure as early as the 10th page; the moderating team already did everyone a HUGE favor by letting it go as far as it did, just to accomodate virtually every possible viewpoint.

No forum is ever truly a democracy. Consider it as private property; there are certain liberties that we are entitled to, and other liberties that we are not. Especially when you realize that we are not even charged a single cent for being here; all that's being asked is that everyone should abide by the rules. Online debates are not illegal per se, but the administrators of tsikot.com have finite resources, and wasting those resources in needless and redundant blabbing is the last thing they need.

Pardon my French, pero sa dami ng mga nakita kong pumapalag sa ibang forums whenever a mod clamps down their thread, turns out that not a single one of them was paying for the upkeep of the site. Pero ano, ang lakas ng loob nilang UMANGAL. Veeeeeery mature.

Oh, and if the mods were to enforce the rules strictly, this thread should also be closed by now. As a matter of policy, any member who questions a moderator's actions should do so by using the PM function, either to the mod concerned or to the administrating team at large, instead of starting another thread just to air personal grievances.

Oks lang naman for threads like this to come up once in a while. It allows other people to show support din for the moderators. ... but don't worry, I don't expect this to hit 30 pages. (sinong gusto mag-bet... ).

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

    wow!
    daming users!

di po ba mas magandang i-suspend na lang pag
ilang beses ng binigyan ng warning kesa
    i-close ang thread?

anyway, i believe that the moderators
know what is best for the group and
they decide based on what they
think and not what they feel.

baka naman nagkakataon lang. Siguro wala naman masama (for lack of better term) na intention si El_Chicane.

I've read a good part of that thread, tama yung sabi nila, after several pages paulit-ulit na lang. Kung paulit-ulit na lang, what's the point of keeping it open.

Are heated debates ILLEGAL in Tsikot?
