    to moderators:

do you have any requirements for the members before you can welcome them on the forum?

regarding the reply i got from ghosthunter:

"It seems you dont know the basics of how an engine works...

You might want to enlighten yourself before you ask more questions."

    - does expertise on engine a pre-requisite to be able to ask any question from any of the forum? 'coz i always thought that learning from experts would be a good (if not the best) way to understand things especially on engine. i guess i'm wrong. :freak:

no, of course, no requirement of that sort for membership. we are after all here to learn from each other

i don't think ghosthunter intended to come off brusquely, our apologies.

thanks mbt! makes me feel better knowing not all moderators give offensive remarks to members like me having very limited knowledge on engines.
hope to learn more from this forum and not to be judged.

blugsr98 if I recall correctly posted a few things in the controversial "gas saver et ego" thread.

The timing is suspect, and the lack of information from his posts were likewise oddly congruent with the sales agents involved.

sad ako kasi hindi ko nalaman ang saktong tinanong ni blugsr98 at kung bakit ganon na lang ang isinagot sa kanya.

isn't it that the discussion is on product behavior and capability and not the poster's capability?
also, as a moderators they are bound to such limitations and obligations to protect the dignity of the forum.
that's the reason why i'm surprise with what i got from one of moderators after sharing my experience and insights on this forum.
anyways, i hope to learn more than to be crticized on the next postings.

just a friendly reminder to members especially moderators to choose the words we're using. we might be offending people here who is more knowledgeable (expert) than what we really are. thanks!

so you are faking who you are? So you know more than what you are posting but letting on an image of ignorance? Is that what your statement is about?

its because to fully answer your question, I have to discuss about the basic works of a 4 cycle gasoline engine, including indepth details on how the air intake and electronic fuel injection works. I do not want to lecture something so lengthy that the person would simply ignore it because of length.

A steady 2inHg intake vacuum pressure claim during all engine rpm levels is suspiciously wrong.

    Here's a simple test.

    1. Remove your car's air filter element temperarily.
    2. Place your hand to partially cover the intake hole leading to the air sensor while the car is idle.
    3. Feel the air flow by your hand.
    4. Rev up the engine to a higher RPM
    5. Feel the air flow again.

The first "feel" is the air suction at engine idle speed. The second "feel" is the air suction at a higher RPM. Doesn't the 2nd "feel" feel much much stronger than the first? Yes? So how did the "dealer" get 2inHg during all engine RPMs if your 2nd "feel" is stronger? Remember, the vacuum guage is supposed to be measuring the same suction as your hand.

ghosthunter, I've read your logic/arguments and they are quite good. Unfortunately, the way you replied on some of them were quite strong. Siguro kailangan lang siya na medyo toned down lang ang dating. Kung sa inuman pa ito nangyari, suntukan na siguro ang inabot. Cool lang. Sa dami ngang manloloko ngayon, it's quite normal nowadays to be watchful for any potential scam. But if we prejudge and our approach seems to border on looking for a fight, mahirap din yan, di ba?

its the debate style I have learned to use back in my college days and has served me well enough.

    I'll take that into consideration.

i'm not faking who i am. i'm just a simple guy with a simple car. i'm not saying that i'm knowledgeable in the first place i already told you that i don't know much on engines. i'm just here to learn and share whatever experience i got.

I agree with altec. You do have a point there but you can also say it in a nice and convincing way na hindi naman masyadong harsh and offensive sa ka-tsikoteers natin. Yung tipo bang sinasabihan mo na syang "ANG TANGA-TANGA MO!!!" PERO HE STILL KEEPS ON THANKING AND PRAISING YOU for your advises. :D Diba sarap ng ganong feeling na nakakatulong ka sa kapwa mo? In the first place some or all of us here are not quite familiar with each other at hindi natin alam ang mga level of patience ng bawat isa. Medyo wag masyadong offensive sa words pre. Take note na maraming observer din dito sa forum na 'to na pwede ka ding ma-mis-interpret.

Kaya cool lang tayo pre.... ika nga ni mbt "we are after all here to learn from each other".

    cheers!!! :toast:

errr... we've been doing that here in tsikot since the start. that's why we migrated here to tsikot from the other site.

read the topics first in contention.

yes, the answers maybe harsh but our technical questions still go unnoticed for this so-called "fuel-saving" device. only "testimonials" have been posted.

to boot, tsikot has been invaded by some multi-accounts this past week.
