coordinator is very important. i got married last year and very thankful ako sa coordinator ko coz walang umalis 'til the end. maganda kasi ang pagkakaprogram nun coordinator ko. I've attended a lot of weddings already and usual na na-observe ko umaalis na yun mga guests pagkatapos kumain. medyo bastos nga eh pero andami ganyan pinoy guests.

to those who are planning to wed sa mga open gardens or venues, i-share ko lang na-experience ko sa isang wedding na attend ko last Dec. bigla umulan in the middle of the wedding, tapos yun bride umiiyak na ... nakaawa nga eh ... ganda pa naman setup ng wedding nila sa coconut palace.

yun coordinator ko weddings by victoria si tina. as much as possible, have your weddings sa enclosed area para less hassle and if it permits alamin nyo na din kung may generator just in case magkaroon ng power interruption.

fernwood I think is very nice. ang ganda nature na nature dating. I also attended a wedding there. kaya lang kapag naka-barong kayo, ang init sobra. buti pa CR nila aircon pero yun wedding venue itself mainit hehehe

regarding tina, magaling sya makipag-usap sa mga venues. I got the wedding package in Edsa Shang tapos kinausap niya yun mga managers dun. my wife's room got upgraded to a suite for 2 nights (before & after wedding, honeymoon night) for free. she was also able to get a another room for my family for free. na-waive din yun mga corkage fees ng hotel bec. of her. yun mga relatives ko na nagdala ng litson and wine, wala na corkage charge. and naging free flowing pa yun drinks for the guest instead na one time lang.

and last but not the least she was able to get Edsa Shang's Lincoln Towncar as bridal car for us, for free again. ngaun kasi yun ang pinakamahal ng limousine kung i-re-rent sa 3rd party.

so in choosing a coordinator, tignan nyo yun experience talaga kung malakas connections or p.r. nila.

weddings by victoria's cristina is nicknamed nina siya din coordinator namin and yup she likewise was able to haggle a lot for us. in the end, good coordinators actually pay for themselves because of all the freebies you get

nina is by the way one of the first in the industry FYI

25k on the day coordination lang, pero bali hindi din 1-day kasi ilan beses kami nag-meet before the wedding. she even arranged a meeting with us, her, and the manager of events ng hotel 2 weeks before the wedding para maayos talaga.

It could be anywhere from 1,000 to infinity...

Churches with air conditioning on could be 12k-25k. If you have friends who can get you a discount, go for it.

Coconut Palace was 20K for the venue last time I asked. Make sure you schedule in a month with very little chance of rain.

Catering could be anywhere from 200 pesos to 1000 pesos per head.

Your dress can be rented, or made custom from 10k to 25k or up to 50k. Maybe 100k with stones.

Those are the big ticket items. There are lots of small stuff that add up to a lot. Flowers, dresses for the entourage, invites, cakes if not included in the catering, additional decor, emcees, sound system if not already part of the package, musicians, cars, etc.

We got our dress from a known designer for 30k. No stones, but the lacework and cut were very very beautiful. (of course, I also had a hand in the design. ).

I can say one thing for the scheduling at coconut palace.... ANG HIRAP! If you don't book over a year in advance, you might not get a good date. Our friends booked one year in advance and still got pushed out to a marginal date. Ayun, inabutan ng typhoon season. Their beautiful garden wedding became a sort of cramped indoor one... and my old car got wrecked by floods, to boot. grrrrrrrr....

I can't vouch for other venues in the metro, but for December, you'd be surprised how clement the weather is. Unless you luck out on El Niņo, it's usually cool but dry in December. If you want to be a segurista, tents do wonderful things... but AFAIK, places like Fernwood are roofed anyway. What some do is rent one open area and one closed just in case, but that costs you an extra 20k or so.

Yes, the egg helps. If only to make your wife feel better. :D We did it... had a garden reception with no tents (in December!), and we had no problems.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Yung 1 year +++ na yan for popular months and dates like June and May. Always best to check anyway. Good luck!

Yung egg kasi, gusto ng wife ko... pero I wasn't worried. Andami na kong December na kasal na in-attend na di inulanan... and when it does rain, di naman grabe. You don't usually get heavy rain in cold months, because cold weather lessens the likelihood of sudden storms.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
