there is no such thing as a "normal" wedding that the woman will never forget....

    1) Do a super low budget wedding and I'm sure she'll never forget that! (even when you're dead na :lol: )
    2) Do a high budget wedding and I'm sure she'll never forget that!

    Eto matino kong sagot:

    3) Do a unique wedding - I'm sure she'll neve forget that! What are unique weddings?
That depends on your trip or your would-be-wife trip....

definitely wala pang nag bungee-jump-wedding or hara-kiri-wedding (joke lang).

I'd say prepare your lifetime savings and that would be just sufficient.

(BTW my wedding was just below P15K budget - believe it or not)

every wedding is unforgetable kahit na low or high budget. mag expand yang budget mo pagdating sa huli kaya dont worry makahanap ka ng paraan kung sakaling ma short. ako kasi nung sinakal este kinasal last '96 mga more or less 100k ang savings ko along the preparations meron dyan sasagot sa ibang gastusin mo. peace

no such thing as a "normal" wedding budget... to know how much it would cost, best to go to some of the wedding expos that happen in malls and other locations.

    some ideas:
a restaurant to serve as your wedding reception would cost at least P10,000 per table of 12. That's for Gloria Mariz. And there is a minimum number of tables.

church reservations would be best done a YEAR ahead, especially for those more wanted venues like Manila Cathdral, San Agustine, etc. You also have to check the prices if you are going to have the aircon or not. Also some churches will not let you get married there unless you are a regular partron of that church (or you are connected to some powerful personality in politics or business). Pricing here is the least of your problems.

    gretzy,
Give me a ballpark of how much we are talking about here. around 75 guests, sit down dinner and on 5 star hotel. We got married in a simple church wedding here. No elaborate reception. For $80 a plate, I don't think it worth to have a reception here. We decided to put the $$ down on a house. W played it safe.

So maybe sa Pinas na lang ang budget namin. We already have our flower, our daughter.

the hotel reception would cost around P18K up per table of 10. That usually includes flowers, room, etc... usually minimum is ten tables. Drinks are NOT included... also include 10% VAT to that price.

    ghosthunter,
That's not a bad deal. My wife should see this. I am hoping this is at least a Shangrila Hotel or it's equivalent? Any hotels I should look for?
    TIA

hhmmm, there's just too many factors to consider to be able to give, even a ballpark figure. pero here are some of the basics

    1. dresses - 20k - 150k (kung sagot mo buong entourage. i asked one of the not so famous wedding dress maker and their price is 60k for the whole entourage. i ended up paying for the relatives only, and gumastos ako ng 30k.

    2. church - 2k - 8k (not so sure na)

    3. reception - cheapest siguro kung sa bahay. kung sa resto o hotel, depende kung 5-star o 3 star. to be safe, 100k pwede na siguro.

    4. misc stuff like flowers, video, etc... siguro eh ok na 30k.

so all in all, mga 300k.

the price depends heavily on who is going to do the dresses and how many. Also the material, lace, bead-work, etc. all goes to the price.

    2. church - 2k - 8k (not so sure na)
The price range is around P15k to P30K for the church

Ahem! ... 100k??? for a 100 guest reception at a 5 star hotel, it will be P15K per table of 10. So thats already P150K not yet including drinks.

    4. misc stuff like flowers, video, etc... siguro eh ok na 30k.
cake alone would cost P30K... Video/photo/photo album prices are package according to what is included and how it was mastered.

so all in all, mga 300k.
not even a close ball park figure...

Shangrila Hotel is one of the most expensive places you might want to hold a wedding reception. Madarin Oriental is priced better but has a smaller ballroom. Westin Philippine Plaza can give you the option of a garden reception and the prices are good... downside, they will not accept any reservations unless is 6 months away.

A good option is to have your reception catered and held at Intramuros... There is a restaurant there run and operated by Christina Gonzales (yup, the singer/actress/mother). Spanish yung atmosphere and good ambiance. Pricing depends on what you want included.

300k, i think is a pretty good estimate para sa isang, moderate kasalan.. kung gusto mong magarbo talaga, at ang reception eh sa coconut palace, plan 2x nito. i hv a friend na kinasal 2 years ago at sa coconut palace reception nila, almost 600k ginastos nila. reception alone is about 250k.
