Just an update, I was in Ilocos yesterday when I was trying to book a ride for my son who was in Manila. When I got back to Manila a while ago, the card option was available na.

So I guess you cannot use the card option when you are in a province, & booking for someone in Manila.

had my share of abusive & kapal muks taxi drivers in the past..dami bitbit napamiling bulky items in the middle of pouring rains..kulang nlang ibalik ko ang nabili ko & take jeepney going home with my family with small kids in tow..
past forward to present times & advances in technologies yet transport mobility is still chaotic in metro manila..dumami na kasi mga tao sa mundo..dumadami din corrupt sa gobyerno..

if we're talking about financial capacity to bribe, i think local taxi operators are no match for uber

billions of dollars ang capital ng uber

uber can easily offer more money to govt bribe-takers

question is -- isn't uber going under-the-table with LTFRB?

    if not, why not?

since they're already in the business of breaking regulations

yes they may have. but taxi operators here are either into politics or have more connections with the regulating bodies. just consider the past leadership of the ltfrb and those making noise now.. im just wondering that of all the countless complaints against taxis, more magnified ang mistakes ng uber

it boggles the mind that they you could be fined an amount equal to your entire earnings...that they still expect Uber to extend financial assistance to drivers with that fine.

Is that amount based on the earnings from Uber drivers that have and don't have a franchise? It should follow that if the fine is settled, all Uber drivers should be able to operate.

Ganun ba talaga kumit ang Uber, 2.28B pesos a year?

uber came into the Phil. market testing the limits of gov't regulators

    now regulators have pushed back

seeing how desperate uber is to keep its Philippine market

the govt will test the limits of uber

let's see how much the gov't will fine uber again

    full circle
