July 20th, 2017 09:43 AM #82Not "some" but apparently many of them.
BUT you have to wonder why people it seems prefer Uber/Grab than those who are under "regulations and safeguards".
Obviously, may mali sa traditional taxis which I think is being missed out by LTFRB by focusing only on the word of the law.
Kung ako tatanungin, just give all of them the franchise and let the market decide the winner. Protectionism leads to inefficiency and poor service.

July 20th, 2017 10:26 AM #83Amen bro... market dapat mag dictate what's best and not the LTFRB na puro pansariling interes o interes ng (taxi) lobbyist ang pinoprotektahan at isinusulong.... kunwari pinoprotektahan ng LTFRB ang mga mananakay... pero yung mga kolorum na bus at jeepney hanggang ngayon naglipana dahil may payola sa kanila... buwiset.

this is one such interest of the ltfrb. it's called "taxes". the de facto taxis should pay their way and not piggy-back on the tax moneys of the others.
mananakays see only their personal issues.
they may not recognize the hidden issues that the government is tasked to see and remedy, so that they-the-mananakays, would not have to.
the least the mananakays can do, is to help the government care for them.Last edited by dr. d; July 20th, 2017 at 11:12 AM.

July 20th, 2017 11:29 AM #89If the alternatives are that good (i.e. LRT / MRT/ P2P / PUJ / PUB / Taxis), do you think papansinin ng mananakay ang mas mahal na uber / grab... gusto nga ng LTFRB isaksak yang mga alternatives na yan sa lalamunan ng mananakay... kesyo mas safe, may habol kung maaksidente, kesyo mas bantay nila, atbp.... gumawa pa ng P2P ang LTFRB just to have another alternative to the alternatives... pero ano pinili ng "market"?

Agree to heavily regulate Uber and Grab immediately,- but LTFRB should shoot themselves next and resurrect as a phoenix.
Bottomline,- let the market forces decide who to patronize,- and obviously, this is learning towards uber and grab for whatever their worth is to the consumers... Regulate them, yes,- but Hack-the-Shaq the taxi system to reinvent themselves to be more competitive.
