yes it was supposed to be like that -- people who ALREADY own a car can give rides to people in their spare time
it morphed into the taxi business
--
ang pinaka goal ng uber pinas is to activate as many cars as they possibly can
more active cars on the road = more $$$

August 16th, 2017 01:25 PM #193Uber operates the same way as Google / Youtube ata. yes they earn money on the rides, pero ang talagang pinag-kakakitaan ata nila eh advertisements. with a good subscriber base, dami mag-aadvertise o makikipartner sa kanila. Yun mga free credits alone is suspect.
Yun ang hinde alam ng LTFRB haha, LTRFB thought they are cripling Uber as a transport company were in fact, Uber is bigger than that. the same way as Google is operating Android. kala ng mga tao Android is like Windows or Apple, pero ang hinde nila alam Android is just a tool for Google's advertising empire. that's why I never bought any android phone from the start. a free app is a dangerous data mining tool for the developer. there's no such thing as a free lunch.
with the Uber ecosystem, both Uber operator / driver and Riders are subscribers just like us getting a free account of FB or Hotmail or Yahoo mail. Yan ang hinde na-realize ng mga Uber operators who bought those cars on installment. To Uber, they're just one of the subscribers / members / account holders. ang laki ng gastos nila isang kotse just to become a member of the Uber social media network lol

uber is no comparison to google and facebook
uber is burning cash
uber survives on investor money
google and facebook are profitable
uber isn't gonna exist in its current form a few years from now

grab put a ceiling daw sa surge pricing nila up to 1.5x or 1.7x lang kahit na 2x dapat ang allowed sa kanila ng LTFRB. Jusy to the riders dahil siguradong magkakaroon ng shoet ng supply

Eh yung ibang Pinoy, umabuso.
Giawang full-time business, bumili pa nang fleet of vehicles just for uber/grab.
Naghire pa ng full-time driver to drive the vehicles, instead of driving it themselves.
Just my 2 cents.Last edited by leonleon; August 16th, 2017 at 02:30 PM.

August 16th, 2017 03:24 PM #199since the time uber / grab operates i only got to ride once from tiendisitas to dltb cubao..the driver thought i was dropping off dltb edsa munoz terminal as previously instructed by my daughter..in short there was some minor confusion and catched up my trip schedule..but it only confirmed my lingering doubts this app based ride sharing thing is not really as safe or efficient as some people would argue..
so with the suspension in effect how would the enforcers know if the car is uber affiliated or not..me special markings ba sila or sensor activated gadget implanted inside the car..? dont have any idea..

i think you are underestimating Uber. Uber already Uber boat taxis in Venice, Uber helicopters as well as Uber private jet. they are data mining, particularly the transport logisitcs of every type of transportstion of every country na andun sila. one hing Uber has roght now is they have the data siguro of eveey urbsn mapping system of Singspore, US, Japan, Australia, Philippines. that data alone they can sell it to investors wanting to invest in a country. if Uber Philippines that it averages 500, 000 trips a month, that's consumer data.
Probably looks like a Coke sakto. Yes, where did you buy it?
