Tourist Visa Processing For Filipinos (US,UK,SCHENGEN,JAPAN, KOREA, ETC.)

I got approved.

They never asked for any other document aside from these:
1. Passport
2. DS-160
3. Appointment letter

The consular officer only talked to me about three main topics:
1. Purpose of my trip
2. My employment tenure
3. Countries I've been to on business

After that, he just told me that my passport (with the visa stamp) will be ready in about a week. I've been to the US before so I'm sure this fact helped my case. Though, it's funny that none of the documents that I've painstakingly prepared were asked from me. I sort of knew that but I always try to err on the side of caution.

While waiting in line, I couldn't help but overhear the interviews around me. The consular officers display varying degrees of sternness with some bordering on being curt. Then again, they're trained to be like that to elicit as much truth from the applicant. I saw a fair share of people, including whole families, being approved and denied. Particularly the latter, it breaks my heart to see them leave the counter with the look of dismay. I'm sure the consular officers have their reasons but unfortunately, they don't typically tell you why... which I guess adds to the frustration.

Congratulations! Did you get a 10 yr multiple entry this time and will you be paying the addional $250?

There's no pattern talaga sa visa approval. My Tita has been to the US several times. She's been travelling abroad since the 70s but she let her visa expire, when she applied again she was denied. Mind blowing, she's been to US, Europe and Asia. Not sure though if her being a relatively young widow (50s) with all her children adults had anything to do with it.

I've also heard rumors that they give out 10-year visas but the consular officer never gave out any details. I'll find out when I pickup my passport in a few days and report back.

As to the $250 US Visa Integrity Fee, I was never asked for it. That's maybe because my application was processed before Oct. 1. Assuming you comply with the conditions of your stay and visa, it will be refunded. It's more of a bond, if anything.
