Yung isang bala nahuhuli pero yung 1 kilong cocaine hindi mahuli kaya ang daming drug mules na nakakulong overseas. Dapat itong airport personnel pa litan na ng mag Boy Scout huwag lang isama si Negro. Same thing with customs.

Her shoulder bag was among other passenger luggage, all sealed in plastic, that went on Sunday through the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) terminals’ x-ray scanners.

Following reports of “tanim-bala” or “laglag-bala” incidents at the country’s premier airport, flyers have gone to lengths of sealing their luggage in cellophane or plastic and adding more padlocks.

The Singapore-bound Nimfa Fontamillas, of Cavite City, was at the NAIA terminal 1 at around 6 a.m. Sunday for her Tiger Airways flight when her shoulder bag went through the final screening x-ray scanner manned by Department of Transportation and Communications- Office for Transportation Security (DOTC-OTS) personnel.

Her shoulder bag was flagged after DOTC-OTS security screening officers detected what resembled a bullet inside. Fontamillas refused to have her bag opened and inspected unless there were witnesses, including her lawyer.

At around 12 noon, Fontamillas’ lawyer Clint Estandarte arrived and opened her shoulder bag, which was sealed by a combination lock and had its outside pocket zipper stitched together.
Initially, all the contents of the bag were taken out and revealed no contraband. But when the apparently empty bag was run through the x-ray scanner, what appeared to be a bullet was still displayed on the monitor.

When the stitches on the zipper were removed and unzipped by Estandarte, the outside pocket yielded a 9mm bullet.

The elderly woman was aghast and insisted that she would never bring a bullet while her lawyer, who opened the bag, was rendered speechless. She said that she could not have possibly brought a bullet when she and her family did not have guns.

Around 11:15 am, lawyer Estandarte arrived at the scene and was tasked to open the shoulder bag in the presence of OTS, PNP and Mrs. Fontamillas and her daughter Menchie, said an incident report.

Estandarte declared aloud his observation about the state of the hand-carry bag: its main zipper had a padlock while the side pocket zipper was sealed.

Estandarte then asked Fontamillas to unlock the padlock so they can remove the things inside. The emptied bag was then made to pass through X-ray again, but the image of a bullet remained inside the bag.

Estandarte used a cutter to remove the zipper so he could see what is inside; at that point, a .9mm bullet was found inside the side pocket.
If the sealed bag was allegedly left untouched,- how could the bullet be placed inside?

    Gumshoe, anyone?

The GMA TV report showed the bag had one big padlock on, but had an exposed front pocket that wasn't secured. It only appeared in the final check after immigrations... Pity the old woman had to go through this mess...

i think RD meant business when he said that. general honrado should be kicked out of his job, should be replaced by somebody who had the balls like duterte. when davao airport was bombed years ago, heads rolled literally, and those responsible arrested within days.

That dumb Honrado has a protector in the name of Abnoy. Member ng kamag-anak incorporated yan kaya makapal ang mukha despite being inutil. How can they solve the problem when their claim is "Pinupulitika daw ang LP".

The x-ray screeners are under the OTS, which is under DOTC Emilio Aguinaldo "traffic is not fatal" Abaya, not MIAA. MIAA is lobbying to have OTS abolished...

    come to think of it..

This has generated a lot of media mileage already. So i think this is NO LONGER an MO about Kotong. Every single incident is reported and is under close watch by media and other interested parties, but still incidents of tanim-bala continues.
