nakita niyo na yung airplane? ang liit, nakakatakot!
bakit nakakatakot? i think people should stop their baseless 'fears' about the new budget airlines. air travel is still the safest mode of transportation. you risk your life more by riding a car to work then getting on a plane to go somewhereOriginally Posted by ssaloon

anyway, sabi sa site ng tiger:
"FLEET SPECIFICATIONS:
Four Airbus A320 aircraft, all powered by International Aero Engines (IAE) V2500 engines, a modern jet engine with proven track record of reliability and efficiency
Tiger Airways uses a single aircraft type for operational efficiencies which lowers cost
Tiger Airways A320 aircraft have a single-class configuration of 180 seats
Tiger Airways aims to have one of the newest fleets among the low cost carriers "
it looks to me that the a320 is the equivalent of the 737 PAL and Air Phil use, only newer.
these are low cost airline now operating in our regional airports (Clark, Subic, Laoag). medyo aggresive tong mga airlines na ito. they have requested and enter into agreements with airport authorities to lower fees like landing/takeoff fees, CIQ (customs. immig, quarantine)charges and groundhandling services as well. Part of their marketing is to ask as much as 50% discounts from these charges for a certain period and in return they will promote the airports a prime destinations in the Asia Pacific regions.
With their low cost in operations, of course they could lower their fares and make it attractive to potential flying customers.
Safety is not a problem, i am pretty sure their airworthiness certificate were issued after full safety compliance...but of course, di natin masasabi.
nabasa ko lang yung ads nila...
dami palang "fees" na hindi included... like service fee (when booking thru an agent / call center)
Yup, the airfare which was quoted to me via the website was cheaper than the rate given to me thru the call center. Purchasing tickets thru the website eliminates those fees paid to call center agents.
For info eto yung site ng air asia. Malaysia yata ang main destination nila

A friend of mine travel to Philippines on 5th April with TigerAirways, 1st flight nila ito to Clark.
Ayun, okay naman daw ang biyahe and well taken care naman daw sila.
Importante eh they arrived safely.
BTW, JetstarAsia (think so) another budget airline will be flying to NAIA from Singapore.
http://www.jetstarasia.com/
jetstarasia and airasia ang nag ooffer ng mura from clark..
jetstarasia to singapore ($59)
airasia to kuala lumpur (P1,900) and Kota Kinabalu (P1,700)
the bad news is, if gusto mo yung promo rate nila, dapat mag book ka ngayon tapos flight date mo dapat around august pa...
kasi the nearer you are to your schedule, the higher is the price... kaya if pupunta ka next week then ngayon ka nag book malamang ang mahal ng ticket.
hi guys, i am from angeles city and living here in singapore for the last 8 years. with the budget airlines coming, better plan on seeing this beautiful green city. i am sure you won't regret it. almost all peaple here speak english kaya you won't have communication problem like what i experienced before in Hongkong. Shopping is very popular here especially in Orchard Road pero mahal. What is cheap here is electronics.
Their planes are in fact newer than PAL planes, so if your confident taking PAL planes for your trips, i think you should not doubt these budget airlines. For instance, Jetstar Asia which starts to fly to Manila on the 27th of April uses newly acquired A320s.Originally Posted by Kicker15
yung pag crash ay ang laging unang iniisip dahil bakit mura yung fair. but low fares does not mean the chances of their planes crashing is higher. bago pa sila mabigyan ng lisensya ay they must meet some standars and all airlines must pass this. ayaw nga din ng parents ko na sumakay ako dito, hehehe. but they are very safe.

Just saw the ad of JetAir US$ 59 one way to Manila to Singapore, it's owned by Qantas.
sobrang mura nga, nakapagbook na kami 2 weeks ago (airasia clark-KL) thru internet. PHp10600+ lang nabayaran namin roundtrip for 2 pax.alis kmi this coming may 26, 6 days kami dun, pupunta din kmi sa singapore via coach, lapit lang kc, 5-6 hrs lang ang byahe for PHp300+/person lang..sana di pa kami kunin ni lord kung totoo man ang sinasabi nilang di safe sumakay sa mga budget airlines.subukan lang namin kung safe ba talaga
I asked my friend who stayed in singapore if she know about airasia. Sabi nya ok naman daw planes nila and some of the pilots are from the airforce.Originally Posted by verenita_green
