January 26th, 2008 05:12 PM #21Ako nakapunta na. We went in the semi-off season and as such it became an enjoyable trip! Downside: hindi masyado maganda ang accomodation na nakuha namin at parang wala doong high-end place. Also, the island is teeny weeny talaga kaya if you go during peak times, expect a big crowd.
Upside, the drive after Iba was fantastic ... like driving on euro side roads.

sarap sanang mag bakasyon sa Pilipinas!!.. man, kung di lang busy sa negosyo dito, sana makapag bakasyon ako diyan!! kahit 1-2 months lang!!
anywayz, from what I've heard too na malupit daw sa Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte tsaka sa The Pearl Farm, Davao. walang binatbat ang Boracay doon! lolz!

January 27th, 2008 06:26 PM #23My family's been going artound the country for the past 5 years. As far as water quality goes, almost every place will beat Boracay. As far as sand
quality though, methinks only Amanpulo is superior (except for the Nikniks).
Comparable sand, though, madami -- not as fine nga lang madalas. But
perhaps the most unusual sand I've seen is the pink beach of Zamboanga --
katakot nga lang pumunta.
Pero madami ditong beach na mas maganda sa COntinental US -- Palawan,
Siargao, Bohol, Cebu, Camiguin, etc. :burp:

If I was to take a vacation there, the first place on my list will be the Mt. Pinatubo crater lake. I love natural vistas. Never mind if it's a camping environment.
In general...... If I take a vacation during the summer, I seek out cooler locations like say, Lake Tahoe in the CA-NV border or Flagstaff in AZ.
Add: Reminds me..... I'd love to visit Hokkaido, Japan the next chance I get. It's cool over there year round.Last edited by Jun aka Pekto; January 27th, 2008 at 09:11 PM.
