Also, it's very helpful to review the trip via Googlemaps before going out. If you have a smartphone with GPS and Android you can also run it while driving.
I drove up there before with only my map and wala naman naging problema.

Don't forget to stop by Cape Bojeador and Paoay (Church and Malacanang of the North), and Vigan at the least.

8 1/2 hours of driving at yebo's pace, that is. Do leave room for a slower pace of travel.
My first and only time in Pagudpud was in the summer of 2002. It took us 18 hours to get from QC to that forgettable beach resort in Pagudpud. NLEX was being rehabilitated (4 hours from QC to Dau, grrr!), and no SCTEX yet. I'd let to go there now that the roads are much better.Last edited by IMm29; February 26th, 2013 at 03:24 PM.

mag isa kalang mag drive!!!

Ako, excluding stopovers(wala pang SCTEX; at medyo traffic sa NLEX for some reason)... from LPC>>>> 10 hours to Laoag; so about 11 hours to Pagudpud....Using our Gen3 Starex TCi A/T.
Coming out of nightime,- masakit at nakakaantok ang tama ng sikat ng araw....
When I felt that I was sleepy,- tigil muna ako sa tabi and wifey bought a San Miguel Coffee (strong).... After that, wala na ang antok....

When i drove to Ilocos Norte before, i spent one day at my friend's house in Ilocos Sur.
Day 1: Manila - Manaoag - Ilocos Sur/Vigan
Day 2: Ilocos Norte (went around Paoay, Laoag and Cape Bojeador)
Day 3: Baguio
Day 4: Manila
That was in 2001...
