yep...my ex and i drove to tagaytay to batanggas. our turning point was that big cathedral in lipa then back to tagaytay. from tagaytay, it will only take you around 30-40 minutes to lipa, as far as i can remember (or was i just driving that fast....?)

Tagaytay should be a good place for a 2-day hideaway.

You can also try going up to Caliraya Lake in Lumban/Cavinti(?), Laguna. There is this area called Lagos Del Sol.... A real hideaway resort.....

    Check out this website.... http://www.asiatravel.com/philippine...sol/index.html

I suggest The Boutique Bed & Breakfast in Tagaytay (although their name is kinda misleading since their room rates are way higher than real "boutique" hotels).

This is a timely thread, my wife and I are planning the same thing because I'm flying home on January 17th. Wifey suggested Baguio, what do you think is a good place to hideaway there? We've already been to Balay Indang in Cavite, as well as Sonya's Garden. This time para maiba Baguio daw

Sorry for the hijack maybe it can also give ideas to threadstarter

Josephine's Restaurant in Tagaytay. Has a very nice view of Taal Volcano and Taal Lake, although the prices are rather exorbitant (for me, but then again, I'm a cheapskate, hehehe).

Then you can stay overnight at Days Hotel.

Just came from there yesterday. Weather and produce shopping were great! Low teens sa madaling araw then low 20s during the day. Finding a great place is still a struggle though. The Manor is always full and everywhere else is noisy and/or mausok! Sad to say, even the PEZA sale is a shadow of its former self.

I agree.. Lagos Del Sol sa Caliraya Laguna is very relaxing.. and very private.. nung pumunta kami don.. halos kami lang ang tao.. ganda pa nang view nang Caliraya lake.. tapos pwede ka pa umikot sa mga old churches sa nearby towns.. then lunch sa Exotik restaurant..

    then punta kayong Japanese Garden..

mga 2 to 3 hours depends on the traffic sa SLEX.. or you can go via Rizal.. kung via SLEX.. dadaan din nang Calamba at Los Baņos.. medyo traffic din dyan.. then when you reach Sta. Cruz.. the Pagsanjan.. then you turn left to Lumban.. then diretso.. then when you reach Kalayaan.. mag separate yung road.. take the road going up.. yun yung papuntang Caliraya.. then dire diretso na.. till you reach Lagos Del Sol.. kung Via Rizal naman.. eh Siniloan ang unang bayan sa Laguna.. then sundan mo lang yung main road.. after Paete eh Kalayaan na.. tapos you make a semi U turn going up to Caliraya..
