Ok a. just using the car as intended to be used. for the part of the guy, it is nice to know that he would like to learn how to be independent.

vanity. pure vanity. somehow, nahawa ang kultura natin sa mga kano. could it be because the americans were too influential (imperialist) that every thing that have is beautiful? or simply the americans have created an illusion of being carefree individuals.

but don't worry too much about them. pinoy tayo!

    pabili nga ng away!

ive been resisting to post on this thread, i failed.

i observe, i wonder, i do my best not to judge, and i keep it to myself. i learned it here after living in the u.s. for almost 15 years.

tacoma - i can relate to you. i made similar observations when i immigrated here, just a culture shock previously posted. it took me years to adjust. the less you dwell on worrying about them, the easier it will be for you to adjust.

for me, as long as they dont bother me, my taxes do not support them, or they do not touch my car, i do not care.

(sadly) i agree that we (pinoys) just get into other people's business a little too much.

missz just like everyone else is expressing their observations and opinions. im sure we can respond with agreement or disagreement without having to aggravate each other.

btw, if my post bothers anyone - that is your problem.

Same Here, I've been resisting to post my comment for couple days now, but I guess I have to throw my 2 cents. I'm not generalizing the Filipinos in California, Florida or anywhere else, but to my observation, when theirs a lot of Filipino in a certain area, they tend to have this kind of attitude of "pataasan ng ire", "Gotta to have, what Jones have" or the classic "what do they have that I don't". The more reason I move out of areas where their a lot Filipinos, but the trade off is I have to travel a lot farther to get to an oriental store (but, we finally have a 1 little store on the town, remarkably named "Tindahan sa Nayon" and 1 Filipino Turo-Turo)

Even if you guys are just expressing your opinion, it seems you are affected by how your neighbors are wasting their own money and their own lives.

You also have to consider this thing called "passion". If you are passionate about something, there is no logical explanation as to why you wasted everything just to get it. Maybe he is passionate about hot cars. So he endured living in a rat-infested apartment eating cold oatmeal for years so he can save up and buy a Ferrari.

In the end, he is driving a Ferrari. And you are driving a poky Honda Civic. That's what matters.
