New Year and Pets ...

Hello Tsikoteers,

Ask ko lang po if there are some practices you do for your pets, during the new year's festivities. My dogs, behaves like crazy -they can't stand the noise. Nakakaawa talaga ...

What we have tried doing are ...

1. Lock them in CR
2. Put bandana over their ears (with cotton as plugs)
3. Put them inside closet with radio
* madalas my mother stays with them in the CR

Our dog runs to the maid's quarters, and stays under the bench shaking and peeing on the floor

my dogs don't bark at all ... they have their tails down, talaga takot sila ... eto nga wherever i am nakasunod kasi may mga nagpapaputok na dito sa amin, kawawa naman tuloy ...

We live in the province so there isn't much noise and smoke during the new year festivities.

Nonetheless, our dogs are relatively used to loud noises since we shoot airguns at our place. Nasasanay din sila sa ingay. If you go to the PB Dionisio range in Del Monte, QC, you'll find a dog there that just dozes off even when people are shooting in the nearby shooting bays. Baka nabingi na

baka depende sa dog? maybe large breeds are the ones that barks n barks..

Our late German Sheperd even goes near the fireworks, ang tapang, tahol din ng tahol.

pero nagugulat talaga sila.

there's nothing that you can do.kahit takpan mo ng earmuffs yan maririnig parin nila yan.

thanks for the sharing, guess we're going to have them at the CR again this year, kawawa naman sila ulit (we got 1 maltese, 1 mixed-jap spitz and 2 askals)

remember that dogs' sense of hearing and sense of smell is far greater than ours... kaya sila takot sa malakas na putok at ayaw nila yung amoy ng usok galing pulbura, so useless yung earmuff, mas ok kung pagsuotin mo ng soundproof helmet with gasmask ... masasanay din yang mga yan over the years... better train them to get used to it.

correct. better to train your pet dog to get used to the idea of loud noises. my beagle was scared as hell too. i wonder where do i put the dog this coming new year's eve...

yung dogs namin, when they have the chance to go in our house, pumapasok talaga sila para magtago. Kaya pag bukas ng pinto ayun biglang sisingit

pittbull ko d alam kung pano at kung saan sisiksik sa apat na sulot ng kulungan nya, pag may paputok. hehehe!

sumiksik sa window grilles... ewan nga kung paano namin nailabas yun... hehehe!

so far, yung 3 naming doggie sanay na sa paputok. and malaki naman yung back lot namin kaya hindi masyadong maingay.

yung tuta siguro sanayin namin sa ingay. hehe!
