Maganda yan. Hopefully this will deter tourists from coming in to the country. Less tourists = less STDs and less $$$ = less jobs for the jologs = less motorcycles on the streets.

San kaya napupunta yung airport tax and other fees????

I remember when I fetched my sister there last Feb. nakakainis yung mga porter...ako na nga nagtulak ng cart kasi konti lang yung baggage...di kami nilubayan until umabot kami sa kotse...all the while mingling and bungling about...waiting for a tip.

Yung Tita ko umuwi din...aba...ayaw ng Php. 100 gusto eh $50 na tip...iniwanan ko nga ng Php. 50...malas nya.

    sa wakas.......mabangong toilet!

    http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/inquire...-clean-toilets

Naia will finally have clean toilets :pope: (Allelujah!)

MANILA, Philippines—Hold your breath a little bit longer.

Stung by criticism that Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) is one of the world’s worst airports, officials promised to clean its Terminal 1 toilets by providing running water, toilet paper and soap—all within two to three months.

Jose Angel Honrado, general manager of the Manila International Airport Authority, told the Inquirer in an interview last week that the agency had imposed upon itself the task of renovating all toilets in the three Naia terminals by June or July. The self-imposed deadline came after critics voting on the website “The Guide to Sleeping in Airports” rated Naia the fifth worst in the world—behind two in France, including Paris Charles de Gaulle, Los Angeles and Moscow. The Naia has the distinction of topping the list of the worst airports in Asia—numero uno.

“What we can promise to our traveling public is that within two to three months all our toilets will be fully equipped with toilet paper and soap,” Honrado said. And, he vowed, broken plumbing will be fixed, and there’ll be running water. He said his agency had been renovating lavatories in Terminal 1, and had finished work on seven to eight sets of male and female restrooms out of 17.

On the other hand, the lavatories in Terminal 2 and 3, weren’t broke, and, being in tip-top shape, needed no fixing, Honrado said.

Some of the complaints raised by travel critics about the Naia terminal involved its “filthy toilets,” as well as not enough seats, and officials asking for bribes. Honrado said he respected the opinion of the reviewers but invited them to visit the terminal again and see the improvements. He also noted that the website was geared toward budget travelers who slept in airports to save on lodging.

Honrado said Terminal 1 could not accommodate airport sleepers, given the space limitations. However, he promised clean toilets for the weary travelers, at least in the coming months ahead.

The question nags, though. Where is the airport travel tax being paid by travelers going?

Typical "pwede na iyan" pinoy character, naghintay pa maging number one. Kung walang tubig, pwede naman mag tabo. Like everything else in the country. Baka ngayon, dadami naman yung mga tabo sa toilets...

Not only that our NAIA have the worst facility it also holds the worst employee.

The last time was there, i was even harras by the security personal mga naka barong asking me on how much cash i have because there is a limit, what the hell? guardia nag tatanong kung mag kano perang dala ko ayus..................then went to the inmigration officer, i was hold in the office for one reason hindi daw sila familyar sa visa ko kaya hindi nila ako pwedeng palabasin nag bansa. Im holdding a one year multiple entry visa to thailand come to think of it i been living in thailand for 7 years already. When i did not budge at the last minute pina escortan ako to the boarding gate with out even putting a stamp on my passpot, hindi na daw kailagan dahil final call na.
When i started asking their names, biglang nagalit saying " wag kanang mag tanong tanong pa, gagawa ka pa nag scandalo dito". On the plain o talk to some japanese they say they where ask for money on the security check point behind the immigration counter and it was their first time in manila. Saying ayaw na daw nila bumalik nag manila dahil lahat nag galay nila me humihigi nag pera.

Thing like this happening inside NAIA wow the worst International Airport talaga.

2 hurt as portions of NAIA-1 ceiling collapse
By Rudy Santos The Philippine Star Updated May 18, 2011 12:00 AM

MANILA, Philippines - Two employees were injured when chunks of concrete around three inches thick fell from the ceiling of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 (NAIA-1) baggage conveyor area, which is at the basement, before dawn yesterday.

Security guard Flordeliza Tayson was hit on the head while lift operator Rommel Reyes was hit in the right leg. Witnesses said Tayson was checking a pallet brought by Reyes when the incident happened at around 5 a.m. The two were rushed to the Makati Medical Center.

Tayson was confined while Reyes was allowed to go home after treatment.

At 3 p.m. yesterday, another portion of the ceiling – this time near Bay 7 at NAIA-1 – collapsed, but no one was hurt.

Sources said this could happen again at the NAIA-1 because the terminal is around 28 years old and needs repair.
