You'll make your child walk 25 km up and down the muddy and rocky trail?

You can call the DENR if they'll allow you but I really don't recommend it since you'll just exhaust your kid.

I've seen pictures of hiker kids on the summit. So I guess its ok to bring kids, but it depends if your kid can indeed hack it.

Ah 25km trek on muddy trails uphill one way? I think that will take 5-6 hrs. So water and breakfast is somewhat important. So no light on the trails during the ascent in the wee hours?

No, balikan na yung 25 km. Not sure about the exact distance as that's just an estimate given by my watch as it logged 35,000 steps.

Water isn't so important because it's very cold and you won't get dehydrated. We only used up 500 ml of water for 2 people already. I brought 1L of water and 500 ml Gatorade, unnecessary weight in my bag.

For my food, I just had one sandwich the entire trek plus a few sticks of Stik-O.

Barely any light in the wee hours, you should have your own flashlight or headlight.

Yes it'd be a great trip for you and your wife. We did it as our valentine's date and it was definitely better than having dinner at a fancy restaurant. 👍

No. Alcohol is frowned upon since most drinkers are rowdy and the bottles cause a lot of litter. Remember, rule number 1 in trekking is that you don't leave a trace.

You can only stay overnight at camp 2 if you go on a weekday.

If you want to stay overnight, you should start trekking after lunch so you can catch the sunset at the campsite. Then spend the night there, and hike to the summit by around 4:30 so you can catch the sunrise at 6. If you have a lot of time, you can try the different peaks aside from the summit.

Nice thread bro. Makes me want to go back once more. Have some weeds, few shots of ginebra, and a walk in the clouds, priceless.
