EMPLOYEES can look forward to a long weekend next week after Malacaņang declared December 24, Thursday, and December 27, Monday as special non-working days nationwide.

Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita said Proclamation No. 750 was issued "to afford our countrymen longer time to spend with their loved ones, to enable them to have a more meaningful observance of Christmas, and to give them greater opportunities to strengthen their ties with each other."

December 25 (Christmas Day), December 30 (Rizal Day), and January 1 (New Year's Day) are regular holidays, while December 31 is a special holiday.

it's because of those who will go to their respective provinces to celebrate the holidays. it'll give them ample to time to get back to where ever they have to be for work, and para di rin sabay-sabay ang rush pabalik sa manila IMO.
