That remark comes off as a bit snooty to me. Hinalikan nyo sana sir :D

My brother bought luggage from CDR King once; buti na lang me dala siyang duct tape :D

I travel very often and I usually just use Samsonite since they have plenty of service centres around the world. I switch bags depending on where I'm going to and for what occasion. What I use currently are:

Large 20kg bag pullman type - Samsonite
Cabin size - Samsonite 360 or my Dunhill leather
Suit bag - I switch between Samsonite and an old LV
Laptop / files bag - Samsonite
    Briefase - Filson or Saddleback
Camera bag - Fogg or Billingham
    Gadget bags - Dunhill

Just something I learned - if you plan on using your bag as a "closet," the two wheelers with stands at the rear are better since they open closer to the front thus creating a deeper stashing area whereas spinner bags usually open in the middle and are harder to use as a "closet" that can be stood upright. With a spinner, you'd need a low table, a bed chest or a spare bed to put it on to access it.

Especially Johnnie Walker, mahilig sila magbigay ng bags. I had a backpack before, used them my entire HS life. :-)

For travel, I stick to samsonites.

Mga hard case luggage para hindi madiinan at magusot yung suit. For me I use Antler with the light hard case, hard case siya pero kasing gaang niya yung luggage na gawa sa cloth. Manipis yung plastic pero matibay, been using it for more than 5 years pero no signs of damage or deterioration pa rin siya.

I just checked out what's available in Manila recently. Samsonite released a new one but it's around P20,000. This is a good one that can fit in 4 suits with adequate spacing inside. Victorinox has one but it's not nice and it's too thin. Delsey also has one out but it's similar to the Victorinox one. World traveler released two models too at a very good price point of between P5,000 to P10,000. I thought it was good value for money. S&R has one every once in a while.

I don't know if Tumi / Rimowa or the other guys have any. I never really bother with their shops. I feel these are just "in" brands right now though they've been around for a while much like how Tod's popularised those colourful driving shoes and Cole Haan with their colourful soles on their lunar grands or the big watch craze.

You guys use expensive luggage! I retired a samsonite laptop back pack after 7 or 8 years of everyday use. Its still in great condition aside from a small hole at the side. Replaced with a coleman computer backpack.

For suitcase, I use a local brand, compass. Its hard case spinner type suitcase. Durable and cheap. I think I've used it on at least 8 international trips and a few domestic flights. Some small scratches but otherwise still in great condition.

For big or heavy things, cartonite with balikbayan box bag.

Also have a local cabin sized spinner plastic case suitcase. British Knight brand. Its light.

I'm using unexpensive brand luggage like Hawk made by Bon Bon Mdse here in Juan Luna St Binondo Mla. I don't wanna spend money on expensive luggage. Practical lang tayo kasi yung mga luggage sa NAIA pagloading & unloading na ay hinahagis lang ng mga crew ito resulting to scratches, dent or even worse crank on the bag itself. Hawk brand is very durable though... I've been using for 10 years already.

Hehe... yung puting barong ko, itim talaga yun nung umaga. Panay alikabok at concreto lang ako nun dahil galing akong worksite. Tinext ko si Otep at sabi niya superstar ka daw talaga. Laging nakikilala kung saan man magpunta. So SC place na rin yun ramenan na yun? Kung di lang tayo rush, nag-selfie na muna dapat tayo. :D

BTT: If i had to buy a new set of luggages now, i'd probably get Delsey. What luggage brands also push those anti-theft zippers?
