DFA is in Roxas Blvd. sa Pasay, try mo na lang Google Maps...

    Here are the requirements
    http://dfa.gov.ph/main/index.php/con...vices/passport

And yes PERSONAL APPERANCE is required. I also just renewed mine last year at kailangan na talaga ng personal apperance unlike dati pwede lang ipalakad sa iba...

last dec i have my passport renewed, pero sa travel agency ako,i went to DFA for apperance and some signatures needed.after that umuwi na rin ako. yung travel agency na ng process, less pila,di ka pa mahihirapan.

just an additional question, is it enough to bring a postal id as a supporting document/identification?

cant seem to find a a cheap government issued id.

the voter's id will take too long to process, same with TIN i.d.

another thing, is there a DFA hotline for my newbie questions? nahihiya na kase ako e

I still have the green, hand-written (LOL!!!) one.

For as long as your travel date is at least 6 months away from the expiry date of your passport, you should be okay, bro..

It doesn't matter if it is not the machine-readable or the e-passport type....

Does this mean ok pa yung green passport? Sa son ko and yaya yung green passport, the rest of the family e naka brown passports na.

Sana pwede pa yung green passport para next summer nalang sila magrenew.

kailan mu kailangan ang passport? ASAP?

if ever wala pa silang reply sayo, it means walang future slot available. yun yung sabi saken ng taga-dfa na nakausap ko sa hotline.

go to DFA clark, its either you get an appointment schedule or you can transact that same day, wait until the last line of those who have appointments scheduled that day, sasabihin naman doon kung makakapagtransact ang mga nagbabakasakali, which what we did.

    UPDATE sa thread:

nakuha na namen yung passport ng girlfriend ko last friday. transaction day was June 7, 2010. we do really need to pick it up at DFA clark because there was no courier or something like that..

I just renewed my green passport last Tuesday. I applied online only last June 18, and was lucky enough to get a July 6 appointment (2:30pm).

It was total chaos. Took me about an hour to enter the building. When I got my number (2186), I noticed na #1720 pa lang sila. It was about 6:00pm when I received clearance to pay and have my photo taken.

Pag-akyat ko ng 2nd floor, drat! Ang haba ng pila sa cashier. Kukuha ka ulit ng number to have your photo taken, 3510 ako, tapos nasa 2750 pa lang. It was around 8:30pm nung turn ko na. Ang bad trip pa, di na ako umabot dun sa courier service, so I have to go back this July 20 (express).

When I first applied for my passport in 2006 at the main DFA building, it was more enjoyable. Sure, there were long lines too, but they were fast moving.

And if you happen to have an afternoon appointment (say 4pm), after you pay sa cashier, punta agad kayo sa courier service para mapa-deliver yung passport at your house. If you wait after the picture-taking, baka di na kayo umabot, and you have to go back to personally get the passport.

    *Galactus

I think I was lucky dahil sa pampanga RO ako nagparenew ng passport and it just took me 1 and a half hour to complete my renewal.

Wow, I didn't know that this is the case once the day progress, but I agree that if you can, choose the early schedule.

Me and my family just renewed our passport last June 25. I prepared our appointment last week of April.

Our schedule was 7:30am. We arrived in the vicinity around 6:20am. I parked at Petron just beside DFA. The 1st line, it only took us about a minute to get inside since the guard just checked if we have an appointment. the 2nd line, it took us roughly 5 mins. to check again if we have an appointment. The 3rd line, the line that goes in the building, this is what ate most of our time, around 20 mins., since the building won't open till 7am.

When they've started letting people in and we got in the building, the number on the screen was 1005 and mine was 1062. It only took us about 15 mins before our numbers showed on the screen. Less than 10 mins we were already on our way to the cashier then it only took us less than 2 mins to pay. On to the picture taking area. We spent about 10 mins again and we were off to the passport delivery section.

We were done before 8am, less than an hour. Overall, our passport renewal experience was a breeze.

By the way, we chose the regular delivery but for some reason, our passports got delivered via Air21 on July 8 which was way earlier on the scheduled delivery date.
