A charger is a DC power supply (in theory and in all practical aspects). Although I did not have a chance to verify the waveform of other more reputable and branded dc adaptors, I would think that most if not all have done actual computation and testing of their designs. A little ripple may be acceptable, but a lot of ripple is a different thing altogether. A mainstream user would not bother to add additional filtering to a device which he/she thinks that this product is working properly. Heck, if i didnt bother to check, i may still be in college right now wondering why my thesis isnt working.

To illustrate my point, here is the actual waveform that I got from that test.

nottice the ripples, im not sure how many %riple is allowable, but this has got to be more than 50%

Yes, but only in the fact that current flows in only one direction. Not everyone has a background on electronics, and there's a reason why a layman doesn't use a charger as a power supply. Take the case of a simple lead-acid battery charger; unregulated and non-filtered. It does supply DC, but I wouldn't trust it for the needs of any device other than a light bulb (an exaggeration). Given the same output voltage and current rating, it certainly wouldn't supply the requirements of your circuit. Chargers, as consumer items and more so the cheap ones, don't put much emphasis on voltage stability.

tama ka napapalayo na nga medyo naging teknikal na tuloy ang usapan. masarap talaga may makausap na technical atleast na medyo na agitate ang mga brain cells ko.

well anyway, i did not really do a conclusive study on this, on its effects on battery life and safety. Pero with what I have discovered in its build quality and design, its enough for me to be convinced that buying a cheap product(charger) to be mated with a very expensive equipment (cellphone and battery) is not a wise idea. Pero thats just me, im not sure if im correct , maybe you have more experience with these things and i am really just over reacting. Pero I guess its better to err on the safe side.

True ... It's best to follow the recommendations for the battery. For OEM's there should be no worries (most of the time ).

    sir afrasay,

in my limited experience with nokia phones, nothing beats the original batteries from the phone sellers. all those i tried (including a kingcom battery for a 32XX series na nokia) failed to match the orig....orig lasted at least a year all the me-toos lasted at most 6 months (kingcom was better than the other generic batteries) without problems.

yung orig, just follow the proper procedure and proper charger din it would last you a "lifetime"...money well spent.

got my (2) LED flashlight at 168 Divi. 150 each. may two position pushbutton switch for low (3 LEDS) and high (all LEDs lit) uses 2 AA battery. Bought it last December up to now no decrease in intensity ang light niya. Parang maglite ang appearance niya.

regarding hte jakolites ok naman cya in case of an emargency and provided pitch black yung surroundings. malakas cya pag ganun

One time, I bought a 180 pesos worth of sony-ericsson car charger(12volts)from a muslim trader at atc -- sa tapat ng National Bookstore...mga 6 months din nagamit. Nung nasira, I checked why? Umurong pala yung charging pins and contact was no longer existent between terminals of the charger and the phone. I pushed the pins to reach the terminal and put loctite. Ok na but after some 3 or 4 months, same sira. This means that the material of the cheap charger is sub-standard because my orig charger for home ac outlets(120 volts) has been with me for two plus years and still running ok.
