mississauga city and toronto city are both located on the same province (ontario). if i were you, go there instead of vancouver. and yeah, its better if you stay with a relative for the first few months.

im not in canada anymore. but to answer your Q,
ontario is the largest province of canada, its the center of manufacturing, IT, commerce, telecommunication, name it.......

BC is mostly tourism, fishing, services.....

if i were you, my last worries would be the weather......

thanks for giving me an idea. actually i'm also planning to migrate in canada. i just don't know where in canada to be exact. can you recommend the best place to settle in canada? place where at least i can use my profession as an electronics engineer.

    thanks again.

like what i said, anywhere in metropolitan toronto would be a good choice for u....and it will be better if you have a close relative where you could stay for a few months...theres so much things you should know/process when you arrive in canada......first is your SIN number, your Medicare, opening a bank account, etc....if you dont have anyone to help you deal with this, it will be harder for you.....so make sure you know someone where you plan to settle.

i'm kind of worried kasi ganito ba talaga katagal ang issuance ng visa? or internal ang problema nila...i mean sa canadian embassy ng new delhi ang may pagkukulang? kasi kung standard processing period..marami pa ako dapat i-consider like schooling ng mga bata, my present work and among others.

    please enlighten me...thanks!
Sir, I've been trying to start our application for Canada pero don't know where to start... I've asked several friends na nandun na sa CND, pero ala silang straight answer, baka pede mo naman i-PM sa akin, kung pano ka nag start, tinulungan ka ba ng agency, umattend ka ba ng mga seminar, etc... Thanks in advance.

sorry if i have to answer these in a straighforward manner, its almost past my bedtime so bear with me...in answer to your questions:

yes, i went to an agency but if i were you, go straight to the embassy. Agencies are just a waste of money, they dont do anything for you except filling in the forms and submitting the documents for you (which you can do).....they WILL NOT collect your documents for you so dont waste your money.

the application form from the embassy has instructions - if you can read and follow instructions, then you can do it your self.

first, go to their website at www.cic.gc.ca and find the proper form

make sure your professional experience is listed there and should be related to your course you took in college.

go over the self assessment thingy...if you meet the minimum points, then, you have a chance....the criterias are pretty simple, theres no trick involved there...just make sure you read carefullly and understand it...i dont recommend submitting false documents, this will be a ground for your denial..

complete the documents needed, follow all the instructions, mail it and wait for their instructions...

took me more than a year to gather all my documents and another year and 5 months to process it .....left the phils in 98.......

Thanks Airshaq20. I already got the forms where you mentioned, and in the process of completing the documents. So far na meet ko naman 'yong self assessment minimum points... mejo nangangapa lang ako kung tama 'yong procedure na ginagawa ko. Sayang din kasi 'yong application fee kung hindi pumasa, at uulit...
Salamat uli. From time to time, bibisita ako rito sa thread na to and will post update and quetions in the process.

Good luck...if i were u, gather all the documents now....i wasted too much time before thats why took me more than a year to get all documents....but, the hardest part is......the waiting process.....so, my best advice for you is dont waste time......

hello, yes nag-availed ako ng immigration consultancy services but i agree with airshaq dahil along the processing i've learned that kaya ko naman pala without any assistance...mahirap kasi sa umpisa ng application everyhting seems so hard.

try mo and always kept optimistic about it kung gusto mo. when i started 75 points pa ang passing mark...suntok sa buwan talaga chances ko but due to some developments bumaba sa 67 points.

    good luck.

airshack...kukunin ba ang passport ng consul bago landing papaers. what's the rationality about it?

yes, they need all original documents so whatever is indicated there, make sure to submit it....lack of any document will only delay your application.

The problem with high profile cities like toronto and vancouver is that masyadong fast paced ang buhay doon and mataas ang standard of living. It will be a lot easier talaga kung may kakilala na kayo doon or better yet a relative, pero kung first timer ka tapos ikaw lang mag-isa sobrang hirap. I suggest going to other places first like Winnipeg or Calgary para maka-adjust muna then later on sa mga big time cities para hindi kayo mabigla.
There is also a faster way of getting to Canada, may bago kasi silang program ngayon which they call "provincial nominee program". Maraming categories ito kaya just check it out sa website na binigay ni airshaq, yung www.cic.gc.ca Please dont quote me on this pero sabi ng mga newcomers here it only took about a year for them to get here using the nominee program.
