we have completed our physical exams last month and awaiting for visa assuming walang naging problema sa result sa medical, i've been reading from other forums (indian) about migrating to canada and to my surprise some of them were already waiting for 10 months and up to now wala pa ring progress or landing papers received since the day na nagpa-medical sila.

i'm kind of worried kasi ganito ba talaga katagal ang issuance ng visa? or internal ang problema nila...i mean sa canadian embassy ng new delhi ang may pagkukulang? kasi kung standard processing period..marami pa ako dapat i-consider like schooling ng mga bata, my present work and among others.

    please enlighten me...thanks!

i believe that the canadian embassy doing some back logging.
my source says after medical, 3 months (max) they will ask for your passport na. that is, if wala problem sa medical mo.

ang sa kilala ko late 2003, it took 2 months to get the visa after nilang magpa-medical... ewan ko lang ngayon... eto naman ang isa pang message ng friend ko... ewan ko kung totoo. basta, be ready na lang sa kung anong puwede mangyari...

"pag na-grant visa mo, dapat umalis ka within 6 mos. di tulad dati, 11 mos binibigay nila. otherwise, revoked na visa mo. if ever bumaba papers mo at di mo pa gagamitin, siguruhin mong i-cancel mo before abutin ng ika-6th month para di ka ma-black list.

    happy gilmore,

no, andito ako sa atin, yung nabasa ko lang sa forum which i think is based in india...may mga post kasi dun na nagrereklamo sa matagal na processing. that's why it's giving me some worries, baka ganun din dito sa atin.

    budakdak

ganun ba? sana lumabas agad ang visa, pa maiwasan ang aberya (if any).

I think due to NAFTA you dont need one. Assuming you mean a green card and not a US Visa (working) lang.

I agree.

the big problem is not getting a working visa - your main problem is how you can get someone to hire you (there's not much jobs there even for people who live there).

i dont know about that....but i do believe that opportunity is enough...if not abundant in vancouver and toro0nto(at least where i go to every 2 years..)

i can even employ myself (under the table)..herhehrehrer...

I was actually talking about decent paying jobs. Toronto is the best place you can get work - but not Vancouver (btw, im canadian citizen).

I worked for 4 hi-tech companies for the 5 years that i lived there.

I wouldn't even afford to buy a TT if i was still living in vancouver either....hehehe...(although i drove a 2-door E36 and a 4-door E46 there - bimmers are major chix magnet in vancouver pare).....heehhehe

seriously, province of BC is going bad....my advice to all who are moving to canada, go to Toronto - thats where major jobs are.

one time from my last job in vancouver, we had 1 job opening and there were about 200-300 applicants. that only shows how high unemployment rate in BC is.

I would say between 15% to 30%. I once worked for a company who manufactures high laser component for telecommunications and closed down. They laid off about 600-800 employees (cant remember the exact figure) - i found a job after a month and a half (fortunately) but others haven't found a job after more than a year. 4 of them even asked me if i could hook them up in my present job.

Other thing is, they require canadian education and experience which sucks.
