malaysian fiery mogul tony fernandes speaks up
In an email sent to Zest Air staff, confirmed by Zest Air Vice President Joy Caneba, Fernandes attributed CAAP’s actions to competitors terrified with the capability of the airline to change the Philippine aviation industry. He also said he was ready to compete with other airlines.
"I am shocked and horrified by the behavior of the regulator. Nowhere in my 12 years of aviation have I seen such behavior. People are getting worried about us and know we are going to change Filipino aviation forever. Many competitors are terrified of us. I am so determined now to be number 1. My fire has woken up. And I'm ready for the fight,” he said.
CAAP Deputy Director John Andrews said he had no comment on Fernandes’ statements.
