He will be living with survivor's guilt for years and years after this tragedy, especially since his brother didn't make it.

There are videos of the guy walking around with only minor injuries. Immediately took me back to the movie Unbreakable.

And this is the first ever crash of the Dreamliner model.

Just in: may rumors that the plane was intentionally sabotaged daw.

But from videos circulating online, wala naman indication of any explosion until it crashed.

an armchair detective also says, he believes the ram air turbine deployed.
he says this thing automatically deploys when at least one of three scenarios occur. electrical failure, hydraulic failure, both engine failure...
i'm wondering, when will it appear in air crash investigation?

The Dreamliner had a stellar safety reputation. Medyo dugyot lang talaga Air India, similar to our PAL before it got privatized.

I had the good fortune of riding a 787 on a long haul flight (it was Etihad, I think). Not as noisy as many other planes and has far more modern amenities -- I flew coach and business and both were quite good.

It's becoming scary to ride on a boeing these days. They also seem to be much more sensitive to maintenance issues compared to their airbus rival. Also, the automated shades on the passenger windows of 787s are prone to malfunctioning too.

Yes, heard the same thing about the airline.

The 787 is noticeably quieter than other planes.

The combination of planes that left their factories with missing bolts and their handling of the MCAS situation really did a number to their reputation.
