That is what I do too, in heavy traffic (N and brake/handbrake). Normal traffic, just step on the brake....

Good feature that you cannot pullout the key unless it is in P.... Why? For AT, you normally cannot/(and should not) start the vehicle when it is gear'ed (gear is engaged), and so, it will become a puzzle to the driver why the engine won't fire.....

If in a very unfortunate event that, the car in front of you suddenly went backward fast (thinking its on D), would you still be liable of the damage? I think unfair naman yun in a traffic/stop situation, you give just enough room for a small error, and not the usual 1-2 car length pag hi-way. Plus its a driver's error din, and not yours (other car).

For matic cars that i've driven, you can switch off the engine while in "N", but you can't pull out the key, you have to put it back to "P", then that's the time you can pull the key.

Amen to that bro.... You should only be able to pull out the key,- in P....

However, I still own a 5-year old vehicle (very popular here in the Philippines), where I can pull out the key even when gear'ed... Deym!

BTT: N to move the vehicle on short distance (towing)

    noob question again,

Pag R (reverse) ba, and you release the break it will move already slightly like in D? or sa D lang yun?

pag nirelease yun brake habang naka R?
pag flat or pababa OPO aatras kahit walang apak sa accelerator
pero pag paakyat yun reverse mo tapos nirelease mo yun brake aba'y aabante pa sir hindi aatras! haha

what's the use of "N" in a AT?
