    *jyg1995 thanks.

Another noob question, yung mga kakilala ko lagi ako dine discourage to buy an AT car kasi daw di mo "mahihila" pag nasiraan ka. I don't if they're saying literally or may ibang meaning.

But let's say di mo nga mahihila, base on your answer, it seemed like "mahihila/matutulak" mo naman sya paga naka Neutral? just like a manual transmission right?

    hey thanks.

So if naka "P" ka sa downhill or uphill without a handbreak may possibility rin na masira since naka engage sya transmission? and your car is moving forward / backard?

P or Park in an a/t is the same as putting your m/t in 1st gear when it is parked.

In P there is a stationary notched gear set that is engaged. This stationary gear set acts as a secondary park brake. So pag nabanga ka while in P, whether from the rear or front, it is this stationary gear set that will get damaged. Sira na din ang transmission most of the time because the force of the collision will pass from the wheels to the differential to the transmission planetary gears to this notched gear in the tranny.

Does that mean it's better to keep the car at N when parked?

You won't be able to pull out the key when you're in N.

For most front wheel drive cars, the car rolls down when the front tires lose traction or if the front tire/s come off the ground if the parking brakes are not on. For FWD Subaru, the parking brakes are on the front tires so they should be firm against the ground.

For those asking about towing or pushing the car from P. usually may shift lock ang mga AT na cars, disengage it, pwede ma matow yung kotse.

So it's not tiring to go from d to P in traffic situations
and you can save gas by putting in N during heavy traffic

Be very careful with "full time all wheel drive" or honda's "rel time 4wd", they need to be on a carrier or the axles have to be disconnected to prevent transaxle damage
