Common gear oils used are 90 grade oil. Except for LSD equipped rear differentials which require atleast GL-5, if I recall it right.

Yes, they should know what kind of different gear oils are available in the market. Just make sure their mechanics are well competent with their services.

the caltex thuban 90 grade gear oil should be good for most trannies unless otherwise states.

some lsd's will require hypo gear oil

para malaman kung naka lsd ang auto mo. if rear drive yan. jack mo parehas yung 2 likod na gulong mo then try mo paikutin yung isang gulong mo tpos kung same direction yung ikot nila that means naka lsd ka pero kung di cla same direction it means hindi naka lsd.

For LSD, use LS gear oils like:
    Mobil LSA 90
    Castrol hypoid LS
Think Caltex also has in some express lube stations.

    jeff,

You can use the caltex LSD for the differential but suggest you use a Sae90 GL4 gear oil for the manual transmission.

Amount needed differ, usually about 2-3L per part. Lsd prices range from P250-350/L.

Kung LS ang diff, dapat LSD oil and gamitin. Kung open diff, puwede na ang GL5 oil.

Some isuzu, honda models specify engine oil for their manual transmission.
But have to use GL5 gear oil for rear differential.

    Bro,

If you can find a 80W-90 rating oil it will be sufficient for its purpose.

transmission & differential oil
