Yes.
You'll spend too much. The cost will include the new pedal set (budget maybe 2k-3k for this...) the new shifter (another 5k), the transmission itself (maybe 5k-15k... these prices are very crude estimates)... then you'll have to pay for the swap... expect to spend another 15-20k for labor (around the cost of a simple overhaul)... and this is considering the Lancer is not fuel-injected. If it is... you'll need to swap out the manual ECU for an automatic ECU, which is another 20k.
Sell the car... +200k... buy an automatic version -200k. No cash outlay involved.
