    from what I know, you have to replace the timing chain, you can't just tighten them.

    they are moving parts ,so eventually they have to be replaced

    yun din nakalimutan kong tanungin, ano nga ba sa isuzu? timing chain or timing gear? definitely hindi timing belt dahil sa ingay ng makina ng isuzu.

    AFAIK ang isuzu engines kahit yung mga older models ng isuzu ay timing chain ang gamit.

    Yes, but the maintenance interval, AFAIK from Nissan, is beyond the life expectancy of the engine. Some people have berated Nissan for using such an over-engineered system for what are merely 'economy' engines.

    From what I've heard, most timing chain problems on WELL-MAINTAINED engines only start after 200k kms, but there are Nissan GA16s (Sentra 96++ engines) with over 300k kms with no problems. Best to have it checked regularly anyway.
