taking care of a/t transmission

hello tsikot masters,

ano po ba ang best way to pro-long the transmission of an automatic engine during traffic??

ang habit ko po kasi ay nilalagay sa nuetral pag ka fullstop then shift to drive ulit..

may tropa kasi ako na nagsabi dapat daw po e drive lang tapos brake na lang pag traffic.. meaning no need daw to shift to nuetral..

alin po ba ang tama para mas tumatagal at maingatan ang transmission ko?

Traffic > 15 secs, use N
Else use D

makisingit narin po, Pagkakaalam ko di pde hatakin ang kotse na a/t.

Pero masama pa din ba ma-tow kahit na naka N ang tranny mo?

Dagdag ko na din, is it bad to coast in N while decelerating from 100 to full stop?

Curious lang naman.

most cars are okay to tow within 25 miles and up to 35 mph in neutral. check your owner's manual. decelerating in neutral is okay, the only thing you are missing is engine compression braking

kung stop and go ok lang sa drive pero kung total stop just like Battlestar said, shift to Nuetral. this lessens stress on your tranny.
