To all tsikot gurus out there, maybe you can help me find out the exact reason behind the sliding problem of my car.

Here's the scenario: trying to accelerate from full stop after shifting the gear to "D" doesn't work. I could feel that transmission has engaged to 1st gear but stepping on the accelerator still doesn't allow the car to move. After reaching 2k RPM, the gear shifts to 2nd but still the car doesn't move. The car will start moving after transmission has shifted to the 3rd gear. Subsequently, after sudden stop, same problem recurs. I don't have problems with the reverse.

    Any sharing/idea what's causing this?

mine slips at 3rd gear (civic esi). repair manual says faulty 3rd clutch.

yours maybe faulty 1st and 2nd clutch
OR the tranny has low atf level
OR atf needs to be changed.

try draining the atf and replace with new one. drive for a few kilometers then drain and replace the atf again. it problem persists, you might need to replace the tranny itself.
