June 30th, 2005 08:51 PM #2Ok lang! Walang problema yan. Ok pa nga yan kasi the a/t zaps more power compared sa manual so kung minor mods at least na compensate mo yung power loss.

June 30th, 2005 09:54 PM #3In addition to that, the exhaust note of an auto-equipped engine makes the car sound like it is being driven by somebody who just started to learn how to drive, especially if driven at regular speeds. (This is not the case when the throttle is floored all the way, whereupon the A/T will "flick-off" cool upshifts that make the car sound like it's equipped with a sequential trans.)
If the exhaust is kept quiet, then the "newbie" engine note doesn't become too obvious.
Unless the engine in question is a V8, because it will always sound cool whether mated to a manual or an automatic. ('Don't know how it will sound with a CVT, though. Parang baduy siguro pakinggan kung naka more or less constant rpm lang.)

You can change the intake, headers and exhaust (straight pipe to a sports muffler). The intake job can be done almost anywhere that sells Simota tubes and/or K&N air filters. Pipes can be done at places like Fremuff (along Osmena) or Nodalo's... but choose your Nodalo's wisely, as some do really sh*tty work. Best to watch while they do it, to ensure they make smooth bends and proper welds.
Do NOT get "4-1" headers, ask for "4-2-1" headers, as the "4-1" will sap more torque from your AT, making it less driveable at slow speeds. Actually, this is a risk with any kind of headers, if your ride is AT.
And finally, any kind of performance mod will invalidate your warranty. You can talk your way out if it's just a muffler, but the moment the dealership sees headers in there, heads start shaking... so KEEP all the original parts to bolt back on, just in case.
Suspension mods, such as lowering springs and shocks, as well as lightweight mags and sports tires, will make your car a better drive also, without negatively affecting your service warranty.
