nope... di rin nga sure ang thread starter if he wants an AUV.Originally Posted by quiksie

If strictly AUV, only choices are the Adventure and Crosswind. But both are already considered dinosaurs, have nothing innovative to speak of (CRDI diesel) or any safety devices (ABS, Airbag...). However, they do draw a crowd during rush hour...
If I had the P1.26M ($23K), I'd consider the hyundai tucson as m2 suggested. I heard the CRDI Hyundai matrix is also fuel efficient, pero medyo maliit. But for city driving, it might be ok. At least mas maneuverable.
Highest was 16.5km/liter hiway driving, city driving normally 11 km/liter w/ medium to heavy traffic. Lowest recorded is about 9km/liter.

horror kung madalas kang itirik or madali masira makina or mahina hatak/power.
But the fuel consumption is really terrific.

I agree with you sir!Originally Posted by ian_rex

Its engine may not be CRDI but it has a proven track record of durability and fuel economy despite the fact that it weighs 2.2 tons!
I've done mine on MT, but an uncle with an AT gets similar if not the same figures. With the long gearing on the MT and the good low-down grunt of the Isuzu engine, fuel economy is mostly the same. Also, the AT gets the turbo version of the engine, which gives you a lot more torque for city driving (but it's still ass slow).
A Crosswind is an acquired taste. Some drivers just love it, some hate it (I do), but you can't deny its practicality.

I'm looking at http://motioncars.com/ and here's what I got (km/l) --
Ford Escape 2.3 XLS - 6.8
Honda CRV 4x2 - 8.82
Mitsubishi Outlander GLS - 8.05
Mitsubishi Montero Sport - 7.52
Nissan X-Trail 200x - 7.27
Toyota Fortuner 3.0D-4D V - 8.87
Toyota RAV4 2.0 AWD - 8.28
Do you agree with these figures? As in mas matipid pa siya sa gas than the Toyota Corolla Altis 1.8G (8.34 km/l)?
Thanks.
Yup I agree Fortuner 3.0 can acheive 8.87km/liter (hey, its a diesel), I dont agree with the CRV 4x2 can do 8.82km/liter. Also the RAV4 AWD. I think both of this car can do only 6.5km/liter. CRV is a gas guzzler if you're an aggresive driver.
Yup... medyo guzzly daw yung CR-V. Yung uncle ko, may CR-V at Ford E150, and he still prefers the E150 for long trips. Kasi naman, you can carry twice as many people, and the fuel consumption is only around 30% worse (halos patas yata pag high speed na.)
So, 200% cargo, 130-140% gas.
