Yup, you'll definitely save on gas. :D

Sa diesels try shifting sa rpm level where the max torque is. In my case (Strada) it's 2000 rpm at aroung 80 kph.

For gas try shifting between 2,000 - 2,500 rpm. I've been doing this with my old Sentra and it definitely extended the fuel mileage. :D

yup, i also shift between 2000 to 2800, never exceeding the 3000 rpm mark. ganda naman fuel consumption ng oto ko. usually from 8-9/kms city driving and from 11-12 kms/liter pag highway driving. i also make it appoint never to pass by 90 kms/hr pag hindi nagmamadali.

car is mitsu lancer 2k glx.

Best way is to read your manual. It should say there the two ways to shift. Whether if you want to accelerate faster or save on gas.

With mine, I usually shift at 2nd-15mph, 3rd-27mph, 4th-40mph and 5th at 55-60mph. Those are roughly around 3000rpm. Pero kung nagmamadali ako, I shift at 3500rpm.

Hindi ako expert sa kotse, but I think shifting too low could cause you transmission problem in the long run. [I guess depende sa redline mo]

ok lang yun. shift according to feel. pag alam mong medyo kapos yung power downshift mo ulit. usually kasi normal shifting goes by that rpm range talaga eh.

ako i change between 2000 rpm to 2500... pro depende din sa gas ko wen ever i load up with unleaded i really feel the engines bit weaker kaya i change wen i reach 2500-3000rpm, wen i use gold, xcs, or super ok na sa 2000 2500 rpm. nasa iyo din un on how you feel like driving. minsan gusto mabagal, minsan mabilis kaya feel ur engine kng gusto mu normal speed, tama na un 2000-2500 but if ur adrenaline is pumping 3000-3800 rpm wud du.... depende din sa car mu wats ur car? 1.3 or 1.6?
