is there a difference between the two? i am due to tranny oil change and i am looking into rp.

i believe that synchromax can be for any vehicle even 4x4.
max gear is for heavy duty 4x4 or truck use.
depending on your vehicle, you'll find a RP product that will suit your needs.

January 6th, 2009 09:14 AM #3i'll be using it for a front wheel drive manual tranny. mitsubishi lancer 2k glx in particular f5m41 tranny. according to my manual, i should be using 75w90 or 75w80 hyphoid gl-4 or higher compliant

February 15th, 2009 11:14 AM #4rp synchromax can be used on trannies that require thinner gear oils like honda (non-lsd) and getrag trannies.
rp max gear can be used on most of the other trannies/differentials/transfer cases
as above, if you want to go OEM-style, get a "spare tyre lock". but i use an ordinary cheap...
