    mga ser, may gusto lang po ako malaman I have a Lancer 2008 GT CVT, hiniram ng female friend ko at dinrive nya ng 30 minutes sa highway sinet nya yung gear sa Manual (sportmode) unknowingly pero hindi sya nagpapalit ng gear hindi nya kasi alam about dun kaya umiingay ang makina akala nya normal lang yun. ang question ko po mga expert nasira na kaya tung CVT transmission ko? ipa check ko naba sa mekaniko kung ano nangyari sa loob ng transmission? pwede bang masira agad agad yung transmission box nag woworry lang po ako kasi as what i know mahal daw ang repair nito? pa advised naman po salamat po ng marami

    How long did she drive it at high revs? In gentle driving, there should be no damage to the transmission.

    Thanks sa reply Ser, she said 30 minutes back and forth so 1 hour sya nag drive sa ganung mode. sabi po nya hanggang 80kph lang ang maximum ng itinakbo ayaw na daw lumapas dun kahit naka high rev na..I assume naka high rev kasi maingay na daw yung makina masyado ako nag woworry kasi baka kung ano na nangyari sa loob ng tranny nya.

    Posibleng masira lalo na kung 1st gear niya ginamit at umabot ng 100kph, sigurado over na sa rpm range.

    Ano na ba sitwasyon, ayaw ng gumana ang a/t?

    The CVT will shift if the revs get too high. If she stayed at 80 km/h, then most likely it was stuck in the "virtual" 2nd gear, likely at 5000 rpm. Not good for the car, but should have done no lasting damage if driven gently at highway speed.

    Worst case scenario, change the oil early for ease of mind. It's the oil that's most stressed by this kind of thing.

    thanks a lot sa mga advise ser, this site is very helpful akala ko totally bibigay na tranny nya dibale mag change oil nako ng CVT for assurance na hidni matuluyan yung transmission box

    thnx tol, nag stuck lang daw sa 80km at ayaw na tumaas pa dun. gumagana pa naman ser nagwoworry lang ako na baka may nasira sa loob ng tranny at in due time eh bigla bumigay. someone gave me an advise to change the oil na para mapalitan yung oil na na stressed out dahil sa pressure.

    diba meron override naman ang sportmode ng mga CVT? ikaw siguro pasahero noh, iba kinambyo ng "female friend" mo

    Shucks. That's the 4G63 powered Lancer? Sucks for you! Moral lesson, huwag ipapahiram ang kotse sa mga walang alam.

    Yeah, pwede masira. I'm thinking na baka sa 2nd year nakababad yung kotse since normally wala naman umaabot ng 80kph on 1st.

    Pag nasira, siya pagbayarin mo!

    The 2008 GT is already the 4B11 one with the CVT. Not the 4G63 one with the 4AT.

    And the CVT automatically upshifts at redline, even in Sports Mode.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

    ito rin alam ko automatic override kahit sports mode.

    I wouldn't worry about the CVT. I would worry more about the engine. She might have maintained a high rpm for a long time which might have cause some increased wear in the engine. Just have the engine oil checked to see if there is any indications of possible engine wear. If none, you should be ok.

    nope sya lang magisa sanay kasi sa manual kaya di nya alam naka sportmode sya

    My analysis, no need to panic for change oil ng cvt. Mag base ka pa rin sa PMS, o mas agahan mo lang sa required change ng cvt oil, from 40k pwede mong gawing 30k na lang.

    Sa current design ng lancer, at 6000rpm ay nasa peak power na s'ya. Kaya yung na-experience ng gf (female friend) mo, na reach lang nya yung yung peak power-rpm. In excess of that figure, the engine reached only the ultimate rpm.

    Pakiramdaman mo na lang muna yung shifting ng cvt pag ginagamit mo na, kung wala namang noticeable changes ay hintaying mo na lang yung scheduled PMS for cvt change oil, or earlier.

    salamat po ng marami sa info..yung pag change po ng CVT oil i was told here na 100k/Km pa daw bago mag change ng oil. dito po ako sa Abu Dhabi naka base salamat po ng marami iser Noel
