went to honda casa today, inquire bout my a/t problem, solution nila is to overhaul daw ung tranny, here's there computation:

    A/T Gasket - 9,520
    ATF Strainer - 1,299
    Labor - 8,000

what do u think guys, mahal ba? nagloloko kasi ung a/t ko, pag mainit na makina hindi na nagshi-shift ng gear.

Mura na yan for a job sa honda casa pa. Just had the a/t of my gen1 crv overhauled 3 weeks ago here in Baguio. Cost me P21K. Well, wala kase casa dito and the price of parts, medyo mas mahal ng konti kasi by order lang and auto supply's don't usually have these parts on stock:

    Rebuilding Kit - 11,500
    AT Filter - 1,900
    ATF - 1,100
    Gas - 450
    Labor - 6,000

Inquired also for a surplus AT pero it costs too much:
    48K - cable type
    65K - electronic type

What Honda dealership did you have your estimate? Before I had my overhaul, I also inquired thru phone sa mga Honda dealerships:
    Honda Pangasinan - 35K labor + 9,061 (Rebuilding Kit) + 3,525 (Filter) + ATF
Honda Marikina - 45K for an AT swap. They do not overhaul AT's daw.
Honda Kalookan - 30-40K labor only parts not included.

Problem was barado na yung filter and may mga clutch disc na worn out ng konti. Nung una, it was running normal & no signs na for overhaul na pala. Until one day, bigla nalang na erratic ang shifting. Then next day, the a/t was dragging when you hit the accelerator hard, until every 100 meters ayaw na gumalaw as in parang naka neutral nalang. Have to turn off engine. Turn on and ok nanaman for 100 to 200 meters and so on. After the overhaul, so far ok naman for the past 3 weeks. Run mga 400kms city driving and ok pa naman. Will test drive on highway by weekend. Since bagong overhaul daw, have to change ATF after 1000 kms.

OT: BTW, used AC Delo ATF - compatible with DexronIII & Mecron. Ok ba itong ATF na ito for honda AT's? Has anyone tried it?

Rebuilding kit eh yung overhauling kit ng A/T. Kasama na dun lahat ng mga clutch disc, o-rings at gaskets. Ano pala ride mo?

i've read also in this forum more than 3 months ago na, na meron daw atf that cost 1k+ per liter, and it made there problem solved nung ginamit nila yun, do u know what atf brand is that and where can be bought?

ok lang ba yun na after 10 years ngayon na kinailangan ng overhaul? is that the normal lifespan of an a/t tranny?

No idea kung anong atf yun. Pero if you want to take the risk -- pag hindi gumana yung flush/refill with ATF, overhaul din ang bagsak nyan, so magiging doble gastos. But that's only me. It's all up to you. Hirap kase sa Honda, the ATF filter is not replaceable thru the normal servicing lang unlike other cars. Kailangan ibaba yung a/t para ma-inspect/mapalitan.
Suggestion ko is have the a/t down. Mabait yun. Good luck.

Sir theveed, sakit talaga sa bulsa. Buti nalang may credit card... hehehe..

so far ok naman ang performance, do I need to have the atf replaced with the Honda Z1 ATF? Ok lang ba na mag halo yung atf since pag drain, hindi lahat ng atf lumalabas kase may naiiwan na mga 2liters sa torque converter? what do you think?
