    Hello and Greetings
Main dealers have estimated over P200000 for parts and labor for a slipping transmission on a 1998 E230 ( local). It took almost 2 weeks to advise me of remedy and I still await explanation of possible cause. Does anyone have a good source for MB parts and good service centres. ...... get the right solution before it is too late and expensive. I am interested to learn other MB service surprises. Proactive motorists are happy.....

722.6 transmission on w210 chassis are very known for transmission failure, even though it has a lifetime trans fluid on it they should change the fluid every 30k miles.Try changing the trans fluid and filter and see it theres an improvement. make sure you buy the MB fluid and buy a mb trans dipstick, drop the pan and change the filter and gasket check for debris. To check the correct level you also need a laser thermometer.

On a sidenote, I noticed this "lifetime" no need for fluid change usually on Euro cars. When they advise this (no need to change), try not to heed their advice and change the ATF if you feel it is needed, especially with our local driving conditions.

That's because driving conditions in Manila are considered severe already. Kung puro highway ka, masmaganda yon dahil less stress on the parts kaysa sa stop and go traffic.

NO. P200,000 pesos sounds about right to change the MB 722.6 tranny on w210 chassis.
