IN your own experience, ano ang mas ok M/T or A/T considering lahat ng nagiging problema ng sasakyan.

Basta ikaw na bahala dyan. A/T for easier driving or M/T for better performance and efficiency.

A/T hindi pwede tulakin pag ayaw magstart unlike M/T.

not to mention safety... at fast speeds sa A/T you really have to rely only on your brakes, unlike M/T you could still make use of your engine braking.

lakas pa sa gas ng A/T yun nga lang sarap sa traffic hindi mangangalay paa mo. :D

mas mahal magpagawa ng A/T pag nasira. kapag city driving ok ang A/T pero pag highway driving, nakakaantok

actually you can still use the engine brake with an A/T. But its not recommended because its expensive to fix a worn out tranny than to replace worn out brake pads.

It both has it's pros and cons.

Use A/T for easy driving especially in the city during stop ang go traffic. Nakakangawit ang clutch sa ganitong situation. Pero tulad ng sabi nila dapat palaging OK battery mo since di pwedeng itulak ang A/T. Also mas malakas siya ng kaunti sa fuel and you can't maximize it's potential just like in manuals.

Manuals are for those who want to maximize the power and efficiency of their engines. Ako preferred ko ay manual. :D

there's hardly any difference between an M/T and an A/T now in terms of durability. a well-built and well-maintained A/T may even outlast the clutch of a well-used M/T. in terms of fuel efficiency, halos negligible na yung difference between them. in acceleration, halos negligible na rin. and with the advent of mainstream CVT auto trannys, the A/T may even have the edge in fuel efficiency and even acceleration in the near future...

that said, i prefer an M/T... all our cars are automatics now, and i really really miss an M/T. it's like taking away half the driving fun... an automatic makes car a glorified bump car... a manual, now that takes skill. in an automatic, you almost just ride... in a manual, you drive! :D

like the difference between riding a plastic horsey ride at the mall and riding a real horse...

    of course, imo

I'ts a matter of choice, kung saan ka mas comfortable. Automatic for easy driving lalo na pag traffic, sarap gamitin. M/T for fuel efficiency and mas mabilis sa arangkada. Kung saan ka masaya, suportahan kata.

You can slide the car to brake it pag mawalan ka ng brakes. Get some track time and you'll see how to do it.

just a lil info i got from my A/T mechanic who was trained and came from Canada...

he says that the ratio of a full tranny turn... as compared to a push of power for an A/T car is 3:1 (meaning... the tranny has to turn 3 times.. in order for a car to have 1 push of power)... *or something to that extent*

on an M/T car... the ratio is 1:1...

just a lil food for thought...

i haven't experienced BMWs steptronic yet, but if it's as good as they claim and all A/Ts were built that way, i'd go for the A/T ...

but as it is ... manual tranny pa rin ako.

    i don't think i'd want a semi-automatic tranny controlled by paddles... parang napaka-video game naman nun! i think i'd prefer the positive action of a crisp-shifting, floor-mounted, clutch-actuated, manual shifter :P

Di pwede sa lugar namin ang A/T dahil madalas ang baha dahil sa high tide. Pagnalubog ang A/T na car siguradong malaking gastusin. Kaya nga samin ang gamit S/T (sagwan transmission)..hehehhe

Manual transmission or Automatic transmission?
