Low gear problem

Hi, This started nung nagsudden stop ako nung isang araw (a s***** bus driver suddenly stops para magsakay ng pasahero)

since then napansin ko na bigla na lang mahirap mag 1st and 2nd gear, medyo naging rigid. talagang hirap and matigas. ano kya nangyari? my car is a manual lancer GLX'05.

I can suggest two main probable causes:

1. Worn-out synchros
2. Clutch issue:
a. The clutch is not being pressed down deep enough
b. If it's cable type, it may need some adjustment
c. If it's hydraulic, check for any leaks, the fluid level, and if there's a necessity to bleed the system. It could also mean that either the master cylinder or slave are blowing fluid past the pistons

To confirm item 2c, try to pump the clutch a few times and see if that will get you into 1st gear much easier.

sir baka masyadong mababa ang timplada ng clutch pedal mo kaya walang bwelo pag umapak ka sa clutch? pag ba malamig ang engine mahirap pa din ba i-gear change?

To aga: mahirap din eh. Actually the intire driving is ganun siya kahirap. tapos minsan kala mo naka-engage na hindi pala kumagat, then merong tutunog na grrrr..... sa shifter.

To oj88: ok naman yung tapak ko sa clutch pag-change gear. kahit naka park yung car, diba dapat malambot? sakin nde eh. I think i'll be looking at 2b.

sir bigla bigla bang nagka ganyan or may pinagawa kayo last time na may kinalikot sa clutch pedal nyo? o kaya sir baka busted na nga ang shifter cable nyo karamihan kasi ganyan ang nagiging sakit like my mb100

hasle din yan sir mura lang naman ang cable,sana man lang kung low gear ang oto pwde ipasok sa 2nd gear

to aga_cruz: Yung sudden stop lang yung naalala ko eh. ala pang ginalaw sa clutch. inattempt ko kc i-shift sa first gear kaso ayaw kumagat kya ng-neutral na lang ako. mukhang ngkaproblem dun sa shifting on sudden stop. Balitaan ko kayo pag nadala ko na sa shop within the week.

I would suspect that you somehow damaged the synchro when you forced it into 1st gear while the car was still moving or the RPM was higher than idle.
