5 speed lang.. 6 speed only comes with this engine: 4AGE20V black top. 6MT w/LSD and it is uber ultra rare..

bumping up this thread, para ndi nako kelangn gumawa ng bago. I also have a 4 speed tranny on my corolla. Ask ko lang sana, how much ba more or less ang budget for changing to 5 speed? Is it advisable? And totoo ba na mas makaka-tipid sa gas ito?

Dun sa original poster dito sa thread, were you able to change the tranny?

would appreciate your inputs, fellow tsikoteers!

    Thanks in advance.

You can save fuel by extending the FC figures when you drive on roads with less traffic so you can cruise in 5th gear in low engine RPM.

But the savings are not that large so a transmission change might be not worth it if you drive in traffic most of the time. If you tend to drive on highways more often, then a 5th gear would help get better fuel consumption.

many thanks for the responses, guys.

yes manual ang gamit ko, and yes, i actually drive on BOTH city streets and highways on a daily basis. i also try my best to shift to the highest possible gears during traffic, pero madalas 3rd lng un. Pero at times when nasa maluwag na highways, ramdam ko talaga ung tawag ng auto for one more shift, kapus na kapus ung 4th gear lang. Even though ok naman sakin ung tranny ngaun, i just wish to explore the possibility, feasibility and benefits of such an upgrade.

i need 5 speed or 6 speed tranny
