Mga guru, help naman po. My lancer 98 is currently not shifting. It's now in the CASA and the SA says na ECU daw ang problema (pinahugot ko kasi yung alarm nya na hindi na gumagana) kasi malamang daw nag lock yung ECU.

If ever po ba kaya pa kaya gawin yung ganito? Tsaka saan? At kung kaliangan na palitan ECU, san po maganda makabili ng surplus? Medyo feeling ko taga magiging presyo sa CASA kaya naghahanap ako ng alternatives ko

    Thanks

ECU is expensive and never heard it before na nag-lock ang ECU. Hmmm something strange. For any reason do not let theme touch that box(ECU). If you could say in a little detail what happened to your car before this things happened, perhaps we could help you to shoot out that problem.

paanong not shifting? Ayaw mausad ng shifter? O gumagalaw pero hindi nagrerespond and gear?
If sira ECU mo, madaming symptoms lalabas, not just shifter problems

I had the old alarm taken out. When I went home, it was traffic so mabagal ang takbo ko at wala ako napansin na anything strange. Next day, pa byahe ako sa C5 when I noticed na hindi na nag-eengage ang gears ko, as in hanggang 1st gear lang ata sya. One more thing noticeable is ang lakas ng kadyot ng kotse when I shift the lever from P to R and from N to D.

Nung dinala ko sa CASA, yung diagnosis nila is yung ECU tranny box daw ang may problema. Now they tell me that they are trying to find a spare tranny box to confirm yung diagnosis nila

You guys suggest I just pull it out from the CASA? Hindi po kasi ako pamiyar kung saan pako pwede pumunta para ipa check eh

    help please

Were not saying to move your car away from them. Since driving your car w/ that problem in your tranny can cause more damage. Anyway, the problem in your car is not an easy task specially A/T is a very complex kind of mechanism.

At your response there are many possible cause.
    1. Maybe the gearshift linkage is binding.
    2. The vacuum modulator on the transmission is damage or vacuum line is damage.
    3. The Electronic Control Circuit maybe faulty.

Have theme check this before jumping the loaded gun. Good luck

There are local guys who can repair ECUs if the problem is a simple one, like a busted capacitor (common issue if there's some faulty wiring on the car)... but if the board itself is fried, you're stuck.

The INVECS is a very complicated system... and it uses a separate ECU from the motor, which can cost quite a bit to replace. I think the casa is doing the right thing... trying to confirm if it's the ECU before taking action... but you might want to start scouting around Evangelista or Banaue for a transmission ECU. It'll be hard to find, but you never know... good luck!

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

ano bang klaseng casa yan.they should tell you first the dtcs they got from the ecu and explained to you what task did they performed before they jumped up to that conclussion,"replace the tcm".thats a big wow.and you just said that the casa wants to swap the tcm with a known good one just to see if the transmission will work fine with their own tcm.thats another big wow.that is not possible unless they'll going to reprogram the tcm.and what if they will reprogram this and the problem still present.you better ask the dtc and the task they perform first before you decide to go thru.

    for me on that concern;

    possible faulty shift solenoid
or could be a clogged valve body

ask this question to them that you can not get an answer from the casa right away.

did you performed resistance test for a shift solenoid?
did you performed fluid pressure test for a valve body?
    what are the readings?

this is not a tricky questions, this is true and only intended for a person who dont follow flow chart and love to do short cut.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll be talking to the SA later this afternoon. I'll ask about the things you mentioned

Keeping my fingers crossed that whatever's busted can be fixed without burning a hole in my pocket

Help! AT won't shift
